Our fighter jet came in a box from Estonia with 9 days to get it ready for Oshkosh. There's a few issues left, but it finally flies! L-39 Assembly Part 3.

I built several of them myself, health problems, heart attack, lung cancer, muscle and bone condition put a stop to my entire building process. I miss it so much. The L-39 will always hold a special place in my memory, best training jet aircraft ever built! Be careful, have fun, live for today because tomorrow is not promised! If I'm lucky in my next life, I may be doing it again.

By far my favorite aviation channel and there are tons. It’s mind boggling that you purchased a fighter jet, had it shipped from Europe, assembled it in a tiny hanger, found a packer for the chutes, picked the test pilot up in Florida, and airborne in such a short period of time. You are turning dreams into reality and I commend you Matt and the others involved in this project.

A bit bittersweet to see how easy is to buy, assemble and fly this nice Czech(oslowakian) jet trainer as L-39 Albatros is. Especially, when you live 30 miles eastern from LKVO (Vodochody, the production factory). Here in CZ in overregulated EASA it is almost impossible. Know what i'm talking about, I own plane by myself (L-40 MetaSokol) Good luck!

Excellent film. The editing of the 360- camera footage in the cockpit was especially good - constantly changing focus with the test pilot! Are you able to separate the intercom and radio feeds to the audio? I was trying to listen to your conversation with Charlie but there was constant chatter on the radio.

Really cool. Kind of strange there wasn't a little more emotion documented in the first flight. I screamed like a little girl watching an experienced pilot take off my homebuilt plane on it's first flight. Wifey screamed like a little boy, too. Great video! Well edited, great filming, and slick. Really stands out above a lot of content out here. Subscribed... Also, it's a freakin jet! Can't imagine the thrill of strapping that on! Just stupid cool what you have done. Can't imagine all the work involved to get this beauty to this point.

Are the only landing lights located on the leading tips of the wingtips ? Any taxi lighting on the mains ? Matt I'd like to discuss with you a significant performance upgrade of your wingtip landing lights to Ultra High Power LED 11,000 Lumens each from 100 watts each, 320,000+ Candela (CP) each. Par-36/46 sizes. Also includes a strobing feature for bird avoidance, much better than Wig-Wag. These lights already pass current RTCA DO160 strictest standards for both EMI and RFI (noise). ie. "XeVision".

A good friend of my father's owns an L39. His dream is to fly it in the reno races. Im pretty sure he's rated in it now as he's had it for a few years. Its been a journey. He purchased an old Chinese war plane to train for his aerobatics rating on his path to the jet. Its been doing shows and whatnot here in Australia. Sad to see what happened with that pilot and his L39 at Reno this year. Though George, my dads friend was there don't think that would of put him off his dream for reno, so you'll likely see him there in the next few years in an L39 from Australia 😁

I have 3 hours in the L39. Logged when I had only flown C152 and 172. Had 100 hours total time. Easiest airplane ive ever flown. Easy to land. Only thing I will never forget is the brakes and getting used to taxing them. Took a good solid 10 minutes on the ramp to feel like going down the taxiway. Great airplane though and hopefully soon I get to strap another on me as a friend just bought one thats being converted to a TFE731 instead of factory engine.
@gabekremer7148
@gabekremer7148 Жыл бұрын
@@KuostA The brakes are actuated by and handle on the front of the control stick. You center the rudder bar to actuate both at the same time. You kick the rudder bar left or right and squeeze the handle for differential braking. Takes a few minutes to get used to it but not horrible. Like most things in aviation experience is everything.
