Sister Wilson , I honestly say that this lesson was surly a wonderful way to start this new year . I have of course heard the " Christmas Story " or Luke's account many times before. But I think I understand more about the birth of my Savior than I have ever imagined. It's hard for me to even comprehend the amount of research you had to do to bring it to us . Thank you.

I love the nativity accounts in the NT. They are precious. I wrote my Masters Thesis on them many years ago. The accounts have many levels of meaning…and of course they are beautiful.

Wow Sister Wilson, that was absolutely amazing. I loved every single word and insight. Bravo! There were so many beautiful discussions I wouldn't even know where to begin or which one to start with. I love what was said about Simeon and Anna. I also love what was said about the Wisemen. I really appreciate how you link these points with historical context. Thank you so much for all your time and effort, and for all you do to give us these fantastic and phenomenal presentations. God bless you Sister Wilson ❤️.

I always thought that Samuel the Lamanite was one of the Magi. Maybe because it makes sense. If you knew that Christ was coming you would spend the next five years trying to get to him. Is there any doctrinal reference of that?

I was reading the account of Mary and Joseph taking the child to the temple to present him to the Lord's servant and get circumcised. This at the seventh day. If the wise men had given the gifts to the family, then Herold must have known of him. And yet they went to Jerusalem, in to the den of the lion, so to speak. This seems to be a contradiction to many other aspects of the narrative. Do you have an explanation?

Wonderful! I always love a woman's perspective. You should listen to Kerry Muhlstein's video on the same scripture with guest Jeff Chadwick. He added a wealth of info. with a few differences.

Isn't Anna well over 100? She is a widow over 80 years, Married 7 before that and then account her age at marriage.

Hi Lynne (from Walnut Creek II), Why have the Saints in general not figured out that the star of Bethlehem, always above Jesus, was His Father. He was there watching over Jesus attending personally to Jesus' instruction and training. All while Jehovah could not perform His duties while in mortality. His Father, and our Father, was in close proximity to see to the single most important person to be born because of HIs most critical mission. It is the only explanation for that star that was geosynchronous directly over Jesus, not seen by all but the righteous. The duties Jehovah performed while yet spirit, where handled by His Father personally while Jehovah/Jesus was in mortality. He was there until the last moment of Jesus' life. When Jesus exclaimed, why hast thou forsaken me? Father left when all was completed to His satisfaction. On a side track, wasn't your father bishop of the ward while you were in high school? When I tell of my father being healed of a bursitis my memory is that John senior was bishop. I'd like to be correct about that. I know he was at least in the bishopric. Thanks for bringing us BOMC, SC and the others.
