Came here to say this exactly. He has a charismatic, almost oddly hypnotic quality to his performance, especially in the scenes where he's pitching a film. Plus he has a slightly nasaly voice, which he amps up in the show, presumably to reflect Evans' well-documented fondness for Colombian marching powder. Fantastic performance.

@@fatimahaldosri317 I read something about that and from what I can remember, I think it was because they were supposed to film in one part of Ireland that has an accent for that area of Ireland and he studied hard to get that accent down before filming. Then, someone decided to change locations and he needed to change his accent! He wasn't happy with the way he sounded throughout the movie because he knew the people of that area would not be happy with the accent. That, plus his wife just had a baby and he couldn't be home to be with his family full-time - just on weekends.

Ah I watched The Offer a lil late but I have to talk about how good Matthew Goode was! I was just waiting for him to come on my screen throughout the show. Yes, Matthew does a stellar job in the role. Just look up any of Evans videos here from the 70s and he's got the mannerisms and tone to a T. Also, Juno Temple iand Miles Teller are a delight on this series as well.
