Matthew did not cite this passage but the chief priests and scribes (who taught the Torah) answered Herod, They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet: “‘And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’” Matthew 2:3-7 ESV Luke records the fulfillment of Messiah's birth revealed by an angel to shepherds, Luke 2:10-17.

I read in this section about a lot of people leaving christianity based on reasoning, but no one touched the issue about leaving it because of being struck by illnesses, or persecuted by an ill fate, I am sure this is going on a lot, but there aren´t many testimonies like mine, of people improving after coming back to the one god, the god of Israel. Exactly. I figured that it had to refer to king David himself. Christians try to interpretate it as his beginnings from eternity(wheni used to be a christian that'show i thought), implying that Jesus was god. But there is plenty of evidence against Jesus, few prophecies clearly lay out that king David will resurect in the last days to rule over Israel. And it hit me that this is about king David himself, resurrected in the future and his beginnings are from ancient times 30000 years ago.

The reason we can have so much faith in the Gospels is because it is showing us why and how Almighty God, Jehovah, thinks the way He does...and that is via a wonderful righteous science that operates all the universal, electromagnetic laws, bringing them into one understanding. It's far more advanced than we are, but Moses introduced it to us, and Almighty God uses them in all His miracles. Thankyou once again for explaining this debacle of Matthew 2:6 / Micah 5:3. Seems to be a common pattern of misquoting / redacting passages of Eew Testament authors doing this... I'm not sure why. Perhaps it was the style of the time. Notably Romans 11:26 / Isaiah 59:20, Romans 10:8 / Deut 30:14 and Hebrews 10:5 / Psalm 40:6 come to mind.

I agree that the curse of the Moabites, not being allowed to enter the congregation of the LORD (Deuteronomy 23:3), was determined only by the paternal lineage (without needing to reference oral rabbinical traditions). What Bible version rendered Matthew 2:6 as shown in this video? In all the English Bibles I checked, Matthew 2:6 says Bethlehem of Judea or Bethlehem of the land of Judea (or Judah in place o Judea). Ephrathah and clan appear in none of the English versions of Matthew 2:6.. (Bible Hub….I checked 30 or so versions.) Micah 5:2 refers to “Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are small among the clans of Judah”..Matthew misquotes Micah and conflates clan and village, a who with a where. It seems a pretty glaring error (or sleight of hand the way it was done.) But, the fact that Rabbi Singer did not comment makes me suspect that I am making a mountain out of mole hill. LOL.
