most UK actors study American accents in theatre school and there is so much US television broadcast there they pick it up easily. It doesn't seem American actors to the same though Rene Zellweger and Gwyneth Paltrow did master it.

We are exposed to American accents all the time on tv and films, much easier for a Brit to do a American accent than the other way round.

@@ritikajamwal6257 the 2005 p&p was all about keira from lizzie's perspective. He didn't get to display his full potential there as well. Joe cast him keeping this in mind. Keira was a teen sensation after pirates so he wanted someone not so popular to balance it! He should have been a little more aggressive in seeking more character based roles to show his full range

@@poojapoojary9107 but his potential was apparent in P&P with all the expressive subtiliy acting, and it gets more obvious as you keep rewatching P&P, his acting in P&P is like a wine aging getting better and better after each rewatch. Not many british actor has his qualm and suspense in acting tbh. Joe praised him alot on how he express emotion with just simple body language and gaze.

Such a fantastic actor. I love his tormented character on succession. It’s so real how he turns from simpering kiss-ass to tyrannical bully. It’s like he’s fighting his natural soft down to earth roots to play with the cutthroat soul-less elite so he can’t help that his reactions come out sideways. It’s so good.
