I’m sorry but it’s a sad day in this great nation of ours that children have to worry about whether they are safe at school. If you notice Matthew was very careful not to say anything about gun control. Here’s my issue, Do I think Americans should be able to have guns, of course, but with one caveat. Responsible Adults!!!! What is wrong with responsible vetting gun owners? If this will keep guns out of irresponsible hands. We as a nation have sunk to an all time low because to many people are afraid to offend the wrong party, rather than protect our precious futures of children!!! I commend Mr McConaugheys bravery for taking the lead in this fight. But we need more people to stand up for our children!!!

Just a thought. I think it is obvious that what happens to a child when they are young matters so much. Because elementary age children seldom get the emotional and mental health care, I think they should have counseling available in elementary schools. Young children are much easier to reach. If nothing is done until they are in high school, most of the time it is just too late.

I'm an Independent Latino. Really sad with Parents/Guardians/CareTakers lack on taking care of their kids. Parents have mental health issues but lackadaisical to get help. And how who suffers in the end are their next of keen. Adults Man and Women up, help your kids, it's not about you now., help the next generation. It all starts from home. Done. Done.

The legislation for gun reform in the US has been a serious problem for a while. As much as I love, support and appreciate Matthew McConaughey's request to strengthen and, prevent lives from being senselessly taken from parents, teachers, friends and the community as a whole, there are pressing matters to consider. All three government including federal, states, and municipal governments should be involved.
