People take out car loans for $30k or more. They won’t hesitate to take out a loan for a robot that can mow, read bedtime stories, provide a security patrol around the home, prepare meals, vacuum and clean, take the trash to the curb, play Dungeons and Dragons, do landscaping, pick grandma up and put her back into bed, take your blood pressure and provide first aid, change the oil in your car, watch your kids while they’re playing in the backyard, walk your dogs, help run your business, etc. I mean heck, the money they will save families on nursing homes alone will easily justify the investment.

Then Altas 2 gets a little aggressive because it's like hey you talking to me and then it gets up into the personal face of the viewer. I think it inspires fear ;0 Also I think if it got into a fight the Tesla or the other, Altas will kick their bots kicks :) I am a Atlas 2 fan for sure.

Give Atlas 360' view and several different weapon types, small flame thrower which doubles as a thruster for an assisted fist punch, other arm would consist of a small tesla coil (maybe energize the exoskeleton?), both of these would be used if the held weapon ammo was exhausted. Perhaps a sonic weapon (close range very high decibel), or perhaps a very small hidden tightly blue light focused laser. All of these combined wouldn't take up much room and its tech that's already miniaturized and available.
@DefaultFlame

Don't even need to go that high tech. An air horn from a truck with a small compressor and air tank to power it and 360 degree strobe lights and you have a near continous flashbang. Add multiple wide nozzles for spraying pepper spray or tear gas and capacitor banks connected to fist mounted prongs for stun gun fists and you have a riot suppression bot.

@@shotelco 😂 do you think this is the 1950's? Electronic devices can easily be shielded against EMP attacks, especially war machines. Do you believe in the "documentaries" the US put out there to keep the ignorant Russian politicians believing they have 'options'?

In my opinion, most realistic use for humanoid robot today is as : 1. military drone 2. astronout replacement for build moonbase setlement,(need NASA Guide) 3. managing nuke waste, 4.costumer service, 5. security guarding werehouse for 24 hours replace your dog. 6. For entertaiment and showoff, stutman in film, no need CGI if you can make real robot, or as body double. For home servant is too far away, because that is more complex task. Real potential consumers today are military, goverment, and big company. Not for civilian.

Home tasks are difficult indeed, but with training platforms.lile what Nvidia is providing -- and large multimodal models that can understand what they're looking at -- progress will be fast now.

@@alansmithee419 i mean not autonomous build, but nasa can control or guide them(robot) from earth. Using human will be difficult cause we need food and oxygen. Robot just need electricity from sun by solar panel.

Actually, it's manufacturing and warehouse work, which this thing is perfect for. For a robot butler you need something more like Figure 01 or Optimus since they run completely on AI and can handle novel tasks easily, while Boston Dynamics explicitly have said that they use programmed routines and human direction to dictate the robot's actions.

The potential and initial distribution of the "Atlas II" robotic workforce is expected to commence in 2025. Hyundai companies, along with their estimated workforce numbers, are based on the most recent data available: Hyundai Motor Company: Approximately 75,000 employees worldwide. Hyundai Engineering and Construction: Around 6,902 employees. Hyundai Heavy Industries: More than 30,000 employees. Hyundai Mobis: Around 37,000 employees worldwide. Hyundai Steel: Approximately 18,000 employees. Hyundai Wia: Around 4,000 employees. Hyundai Motor America: Over 5,000 employees in the United States. It's important to consider that these figures might not be precise and could vary with time. Moreover, several of these companies belong to the broader Hyundai Motor Group, which has a global workforce exceeding 150,000 employees.
