The keyboard would be my biggest beef. Imagine how much better the speakers would be if there was more room. Too bad they cut corners where it does not need to be, especially at that price. Good to see the memory is upgradable.

Didn’t like the keyboard. Ergonomics didn’t feel well and caused pain because the trackpad is still centered but the keyboard without the numpad is not. Now I understand why the trackpad on the Legion series is more on the left. And I had some quality issues (strong BLB on QHD+ and keys not working properly). On the flip side, I loved the speakers and the fans were sooo quiet with AI on (4070 version) without losing real world performance.

the newer msi laptops look so nice especially with the sleeker chassis... i remember they reused the gs65 one for 15m and delta 15 and it got kind of old to be reskinned for all of their thin and light laptops, not to mention the bigger keys because of no numpad

Hey, how does this compare to the Asus g14 (2022 highest spec version). My use case: I have to travel internationally quite regularly. I need something slim, light and smart for work, that I can carry in my bag daily and take to meetings. But I also want something decent for gaming. Res isn't a massive issue - I'm happy with 1080p (might even help really demanding games like warzone 2). Bang for buck is my primary concern. Thanks in advance!

Got it for 1,800 it’s was on sale at best but my only complaint is my Msi gs65 backlit keyboard is brighter than the studio 16 and I turned the brightness up is this normal anyone else has this problem?

That color gamut is horrendous. I am really interested in this vs vivobook pro 16x. Perfectly happy with the 4060 but want the QHD. The big issue is availability. Can only get the FHD version with a 4070 from best buy. hope they add more options. I really miss the days of being able to build and custom order laptops with a whole bunch of options. instead now we get companies saying they have 100 options when they announce only to get one very specific and compromised version available at retail.

Wow! I'm so glad you mentioned the display and gave us the specs. I prefer QHD for a 16" laptop, but man, that price for a 4060, and you still have to make that sort of sacrifice on the display's color gamut? That's really not acceptable. Less than 50 percent coverage of P3? I honestly can't remember the last time I saw such poor coverage in any laptop, never mind at this price. Anyway, thanks for mentioning that, Matt. That's quite helpful to potential buyers.

I'd probably go with this one since it actually has a RJ45 jack and the M16 does not. I also find at least this model to be more consistent with CPU speeds. But Im testing the I7-13620H where as with the M16 I was using the more power hungry and hotter I9.

We just saw this at Best Buy for our Pre-Black Friday walk though LOL....this was one we were looking for against the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro. My wife does graphic design and tuturial videos but the Lenovo Legion has much better port selection, keyboard and most importantly screen w/500nits, 2560x1600p and HDR Certified. Upgrading seemed to be the same though between them. Just weird its a Nvidia Studio GPU with a poor screen.

If you want it for high-quality video games and graphics then I recommend buying the msi stealth 16 laptop, if your case is the opposite and you will use it for studies or other things for daily use then the msi prestige 16 will serve you well, plus it It is not very bad in games either, but yes, if you are going to play high quality games then the msi stealth 16 is your best option. However, the msi stealth 16, despite being very powerful and good, has a very bad battery for gaming, playing video games will last you 1 hour and 30 minutes maximum, if you use it for other simpler tasks, the battery will last about 13 hours and, *I THINK* that the msi prestige 16 has a better battery, but I would recommend you investigate it. I hope this information has helped you.🎉

Need a Stealth 14 vs G14 (2023) vs X14 R2 comparison video. 14" is where the game is at, with 40 series. Also, what is up with these MSI reviews? Dave2D got the Stealth like 2 months ago and that video was titled 4070. Then nothing for 2 months. I got my Stealth 14 before any major created made any videos on Stealth series at all.

I have this laptop but the 4070 variant beside that same specs for 2k US$ and i have only 1 thing to say this is a pretty good laptop keyboard, color fingerprint performance and the most important thing for me Temps, temperatures are amazing playing horizon zero dawn i never got more than 82c on max settings. Judging from reports so far, it is fine except for a) fan cleaning requires almost complete difficult disassembly, b) still lots of bugs in the therefore slow control center, c) incomplete pasting of CPU liquid metal deserves immediate repasting, d) excessively greedy price surcharges in quite a few non-US countries. There could be more reviews on setting custom fan modes and noise but I guess some suitable setting would exist for everybody. if you like or dislike the Aliens is up to you. (a) kills it for, but if this aspect is not your concern, I suggest waiting for fewer bugs and price normalisation. If you intend CPU load, you better do or let do the repasting. I am sceptical whether Dell fixes this on its own. --robert jasiek

Cost cutting measures like a slow SD card slot, plasticky build quality or metal panels put on a plastic chassis, bad speakers, slower wi-fi, no thunderbolt, etc. are just ignored by majority of you. Btw you’ve still ‘overspent’ even with your Asus if those specs are all you care about. You could probably get more performance at the same price with a Clevo based laptop or a much cheaper plastic laptop like an EVOO with similar specs.

In particular, my Compaq's keyboard (even better than early Thinkpad keyboards, but with an accurate trackball instead of a stick) was as good as my current Cherry desktop keyboard. However, in those days, there were also cheap stores with rubbishware so I guess you must be right that awful keyboards were also available, not to mention Sinclair. Which current notebook keyboards do consider excellent? Many even? Oh, I guess our criteria or perception might differ:)

They did so much well- a beautiful chassis, unobtrusive numpad, incredibly thin and light, extremely good performance, slotted RAM, very decent IO. Battery life is low for a battery that big, but that's typical Intel. 5 hours and change is good enough as an end result. But a two thousand USD laptop with a 64% sRGB screen, in 2023, might as well not exist. You went way too light on MSi, this is unacceptable. It's one thing to say "oh, only content creators would really be bothered" when it's 95~100% sRGB and a low DCI-P3 or Adobe value. It's another when it's barely more than half sRGB. This is a screen I'd expect in a chromebook, not a 2k USD notebook. If they only had one decent screen to put in it, the QHD one, then that should be the one and only configuration.

I used for a bit longer and IMO the numpad is a bad edition if you rarely use it. Ergonomics are worse than the Legion line then because the trackpad feels off and might cause pain (centered to numpad but not to the main keyboard). And the font is a bit childish in my opinion, too gamery.

I have recently upgraded to the MSI stealth 15 RTX 4060 GB RAM for £999 its got to be the best laptop I have had' It can run Cyberpunk at 1080p With Highs of 90FPS with lowest being 75 FPS, all ultra settings with all ray tracing settings on' well apart from the path find setting. I used to have an ASUS TUF 15, never ran correctly even with some tinkering' screw ASUS I will never buy there crap again.

"Dont worry, its still color accurate" - the very next scene shows sRGB of 64%, aRGB of 45%, and DCPI3 (assuming thats what P3 is) of 46%. Your metrics don't match your video narration.

Colour Gamut is not Colour Accuracy... They are completely different. Colour Accuracy is shown with the Delta AVG, which is actually really good. The colour gamut (P3, SRGB and Adobe RGB) which I explained is quite poor.

I expect few would make the argument that a display that covers so little of the spectrum, any of the spectrums, could be considered accurate, even if the delta averages are low. There's simply too much of the usual spectrum missed that using it for any sort of color accurate work would inevitably be a failure. I've also never heard any reviewers referring to screens like these with such low coverage as color accurate, but many, many times have I heard them referred to as color inaccurate (though to be fair, I cannot recall what their deltas were).
