Sometimes if you over boil it then it'll loosen in the oil

Trying these tonight. Are accras/ akras traditional in Guyanese? If so I would love a recipe. These remind me of them.

Hi there. How do i prep the cassava if I use the frozen ones? I never get fresh cassava that is not spoiled at my local grocery stores. So frozen is my only option. Do I defrost the cassava and then boil it, or do i add the frozen, washed cassava into the boiling water?
@matthewsguyanesecooking460110 ай бұрын
Add the frozen right into the water. It spoils sometimes when you defrost it.

That is such a classic Guyanese recipe! Looks really good. And with mango or tamarind sour really really good. Always a pleasure to tune into your videos, always have lovely recipes.😊

Very Interesting, I've never seen cassava cooked in this way before. Looks yummy. I wonder how it would turn out if it contained salt fish or another veg?
@matthewsguyanesecooking46013 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! They would taste amazing. An alternative is to mix carrots, onions, and spinach into the mix. Or you can mix in saltfish. I also have a chicken stuffed version on my channel. Be sure to check them out.

Your garlic looks a bit different. Do you roast the garlic first before smashing them?

Very surprised you didn't throw in a whole bunch of geera, and masala and a whole bunch of other stuff. This is the way its supposed to be made. I think this originated from left over boil and fry. Thats actually the only time we made it.
@utardaiasmus87937 күн бұрын
I add cumin to it even better
@matthewsguyanesecooking4601Күн бұрын
That is also good however we don’t usually add that to this
