Honestly, the only complaints as an 11 user is the battery and storage becoming an issue. I may get the battery replaced and rock the 11 for a few more years. Anything XR and newer seems too much alike. I’ve had my 11 since release day back in 2019, still runs fine, no cracks, all original parts!

Smaller sensors have increased depth of field, which if with a lot of light, increase the perception of overall sharpness. This is why you don't see larger sensors for wide-angle lens, they don't need to have even more diffuse fine details.

I’m still rocking an iPhone 11 64GB today, and it more than suits my needs. I’ve updated software to 17.7 as very cautious of 18 for now. All of my photos look fantastic, and I don’t have any bugs to report. I may upgrade to iPhone 17 next year if the refresh rate improves.

iOS 18 has frame stutters on the 11. I have 100% battery health. You will notice the stutter if you are sensitive to this kind of stuff. I hope it will be fixed, just the way 17.3 was a big boost to smoothness

I'm a photographer / videographer, I still have the iPhone 11, I know exactly why I chose it when 13 was out and still know now why I won't change it soon. iPhone 11 reached a really great tech level that I don't feel the need for anything else. I still enjoy the benefits of the latest iOS, camera you see how good that was and still is. Only downside is the screen and battery. Miss me with every year upgrades until I see something worth upgrading

See, I just upgraded from my 11 to a 16 recently, and I will never regret. It's way faster like way faster in some areas, battery life is super amazing for people like me who don't give too much load and its camera is shockingly good, to the macro to the portraits it overall is really good. The camera button for me is very useful, it is not when taking landscape though. As I need to open my camera quickly sometimes it really helps, now I can use my other buttons for other important purposes. It is a really good choice to upgrade.

Just upgraded from the 12 to the 16. Going from one iPhone to the next is always a bit underwhelming since really nothing much changes, but after a few days I can really tell the difference, and the camera is way better. Also, I mostly shoot in landscape, and then the camera sensor makes more sense. In portrait it's very awkward, agreed.

What bothers me is the dynamic island. Big chunky pill mainly used for biometrics. Face unlock works great but why dont just get a fingerprint sensor and go for a 2d face unlock to keep the frontfacing camera small? Or atleast they should make it a bit smaller. Instead the bezels get thinner, making the dynamic island appear even larger.

I can see the disconnect between millenials like me and gen z here.. i bet this reviewer is a gen z.. I think the new button placement is perfect for taking photos. Similar to how older cameras were designed. Its also quite comfortable for me when doing landscape shots since i have two hands holding my camera most of the time when taking shots in landscape mode. When taking shots in portrait mode however i use the normal on screen toggles since i only need one hand to take videos in portrait. Having the button in the middle will be too uncomfortable for landscape shots. So i guess it simply depends on what kind of phone user you are. If most iphone users are avid tiktok users then maybe a higher placement would make sense but personally i would hate it if the camera button was placed there. Also if you think of how older cameras were used in the past the trick is you simply flip your phone in a 180 angle and it would give you a comfortable way of taking a portrait photo using the camera button. The only problem is your photo will be flipped upside down as well so you need to rotate the photo after it saves. A small software update can fix that i guess but not sure if apple engineers thought of that.
