Kelly, thank you so much for this wonderful video! It brings back such vivid memories of our visit to Unterlinden Museum in Colmar. You returned me to that 'state of lasting hallucination' which we felt as we left the museum.

So glad! Thanks for your comment and kind words - I don't know how I missed it and am sorry for the late reply. I wish I had what sounds like a fantastic visit and memory, I am working on making my way to more museums. Life has kept me local so I will keep visiting the Southern California options, the Getty, Norton Simon, etc.

I have lived with these works since 2005. I met a man who took people on regular tours to witness these and wrote a book on his years of meditation on them. In 2022, the ominous effects, the physical and spiritual suffering erupting from the intrusion of unnatural matter into millions of arms, is devastatingly reminiscent of the situation in that hospital. Meditation on these extraordinary works of art may well be called for again.

Thank you! This altar to me is one of the most precious pieces of art showing the story of creation, of MAN trough Christ's conception, life, crucifixion and resurrection. I find it fascinating also that it was created shortly after Michelangelos fresco in the Sistine chapel in Rome ... both stunning and outstanding pieces of art showing the story of creation - in symbols ... received through god by two outstanding artists. Fivehundred years later now man is about to grasp this revelation in consciousness ... back then it was in images to be felt - it was the threshold to modern times, when man began to grow in intellect.. now it is about expanding our consciousness and living this wisdom! Thank you and regards, Irene

@@KellyBagdanov You might be aware of it: there is even an opera (and in parallel a symphony) by Paul Hindemith about Grunewald's masterpiece (Mathis der Maler)
