I love this in many ways. You have made efforts to bring the viewer onto the stage. The world is a good place.

Mille mercis à Matthias Pintscher et à l'Ensemble Intercontemporain de nous offrir cette très belle œuvre!

He has succeeded Boulez . He is onderful - was in Miami 2 years ago . Also respected composer . Is this really a new language like the one Boulez gave us ? Well know we've all heard these sounds , silences structures before . Scelsi , Boulez , Maderna at least 6 or 7 really gave us something new . i think computer electronic music is what's generating real new ideas and innovation now and since the 1970's . Even new instruments and performance techniques . Wonderful to have this on youtube !

Those who tell that they like this want to convince others to be experts of sound, except the deaf one who still didnt notice being deaf. I try to understand such, sometimes it helps to create phantasies: to be on another planet seeing strange things, or just to try to follow the sound exactly: sometimes it works.

The king is naked but nevertheless many like his clothes. Pintscher is a magician in sound, fascinating the first minuten but then: blut.

This is certainly a brilliantly conceived piece of modern music that plays by the new rules: no melody, no harmony, nothing warm and friendly, nothing you could hum later in the day, nothing that has any connection to the musicality of the past 500 years. This is music in bits and pieces. The Ensemble worked very hard trying to make it come to life but the lasting impression is neurotic and fidgety. The goofy trumpet opening gestures warned you not to expect anything "normal."

Just the kind of comment I was hoping for, thanks Stephen. Don't suppose you're able to point to what conpositional techniques are being used to create this pleasant racket?
@stephenjablonsky1941 Жыл бұрын
@@stompinknowledge3968 That is a matter for music theory which gets very complex and convoluted when you start digging into compositional practice. Every piece sounds different because the composer has made different choices about the elements and processes he/she will use. Since much music is the result of inspiration that is almost impossible to get a grip on. Every piece is a game that the composer plays with himself and should not affect your appreciation of the music "Better you don't know".
