Šindelář was born 2 km from where I live. It's funny that the greatest Austrian footballer was born on the Czech land and the greatest "Czech" footballer Josef Bican was born on Austrian land. They actually played together on the Austrian national team for a bit. Maybe you could make the next video about Josef Bican.... Some say he scored more goals than Pele.

Sindelar needs to be better known, even celebrated. Massive respect to him. Football should never be a political tool, no sport should. Thats one of the things that makes fans pay for tickets, travel 100's (even 1000's) of miles, we try to rely on sport being pure and a welcome distraction from all thats going on in the world. Thank you for your example Mr. Sindelar!

This is beautiful and extremely important history to highlight. Currently there are right-wing/racist/fascist football supporters groups in Europe and in different parts of the world, specifically Israel & Turkey. Sindelar is an example that football, and Anti-racism, Anti-Fascism, Pro-Refugee views are forever entwined. Kick fascism out of football.

Football can never be a rascist sport. Players from all over the world competed in countries different than their nation of birth. Look at the French winning team. Many of their players aren't naturally born in France. But does that matter? They won.

I think I made the earliest request for a video on Mohun Bagan and Indian football history in general. Since you guys responded with a brilliant video (like you always do), here's my next request. Please give us your insight into this new team (which you might have heard of) in the Thurlow Nunn League, called Hashtag United. I have two arguments to justify this request - one, this is a case where many of us are witnessing the birth of a proper football club where everything from coach appointments and arranging for a home stadium to the changing room team talk after a humiliating defeat is being showcased on video (and the fact that this changed from just a way for KZbinrs to play some casual football to a serious venture with ambitions of making it into the EFL someday, makes it even more interesting). And two, despite the fact that most of us have been watching premier league football (and other leagues) for more than a decade at least, we still have no idea how the lowest tiers of football, the so called 'non-league' football, works. I think many of your viewers (including me) more or less have no idea how a team can be managed in a league where there are no formal contracts as such and no transfer windows.

Magnificent video, and yes, you are one of the best football channels on KZbin. But this video has only whet my appetite for a video about Austrian football up until Nazi Germany took over. 'Coffeehouse Football', I think, would be something that lovers of your videos would appreciate after the fine work done here in illuminating a culture I certainly didn't know existed. And I'd bet most football fans wouldn't either, lest they be historians as well.

The Austro-Hungarian Empire usually (and deservedly) gets a bad reputation but I find it fascinating that the football in three countries from its ashes (Austria, Hungary, and Czechoslovakia) was very successful and professional in the 20s and 30s (and in the case of Hungary, until the 50s). Exploring that (if there was a common football culture) might also be an interesting topic.

Although my father supported (quite naturally) Hakoah Wien, the all Jewish team that won the Austrian championship in 1925-26, he also reminisced frequently about the incredible skill of Sindelar, whom he rooted for as a member of the Austrian national team. I would love to buy an FK Austria Wien jersey with Sindelar's name, in tribute to his footballing skill and, more important, his resistance to the Nazis. However, such a thing does not seem to exist. Come on, guys, where 's your capitalist spirit? Wouldn't such a jersey be a big seller in Austria and even abroad the if back story were publicized?

North Korea is technically the “Democratic People’s Republic of Korea”, but that doesn’t make them a democratic republic of the people. Socialism was a popular ideology because of the hardships Germany faced after WWI. The Nazi’s, wanting to maximize their influence and appeal, labeled themselves as such, but weren’t socialist in reality.
