Slot was managing a premier league match where players generally do not get taken off at half time unless there's an injury. When asked, he has to give a proper explanation unless he lies or refuses to answer or gives an ambiguous answer that generates even more speculation. Koeman was managing a low tier international tournament pseudo-friendly where it's not uncommon for players to get rotated at half time. Many international coaches use these matches to test the whole squad and different players and tactics in preparation for the major tournament. E.g. Deschamps says he is using the Nations League as a platform to widen the pool of French players at his disposal and plans to continue down that path regardless of results. There's a difference.

Let`s not get it twisted: Bayern only sold Matthijs because of his high salary, to lower our current high roster wages. Not because he performed powerly. Matthijs (paired with Dier) was the best of all our defenders. Unfortuneteley, Tuchel did not like the way of his style, not being the prototype defender, who can creator wide vertical forward passes from the back line and being as quick as Upa in transition defense. Although he said otherwise in the press: Kompany would have never sold him. Nobody in the squad would have sold him. Everybody wanted him to stay.

De Ligt was never top tier CB from the start, he had that one good season where Ajax was never considered serious opposition in UCL so he played freely and they had a good run in UCL that my team LIVERPOOL won, as soon as he got his big money move he has shown he simply is not mentally tough to deal with pressure, his career has been on the decline ever since people expected him to perform at the highest level a good defender who was way overhyped and his actual level has been on display ever since he left Ajax.
