I was 9 years old when I found my older brothers record collection. I remember sneaking into his room when he was gone and plugging in the headphones which was in his closet marked “hard hat area” yes Playboy centerfolds hanging all over inside. It was a temple of some sort that I soon began to appreciate! listened to all his records including Blondie. To this day the music I heard coming through those headphones are the foundation of all the music I listen today. The mid 70’s through the 80’s were good times for music. Nothing can touch what they did back then.

For the individual saying Debbie forgot part of the lyrics, that is incorrect. The lyrics were changed intentionally, and used as such in both previous, and subsequent recordings, and live performances. I was a freshman in high school when this song came out. Heart of Glass changed my life. Her high, golden voice had the effect of a Siren's voice on me. I couldn't get enough. No song has ever come close to moving me the way this song did/does. I couldn't understand why this song didn't dominate the charts longer than it did, but I'm so glad to see so many avid fans here!!!
