They made it sound like it would be stupid to stay out. It's just wild the difference in info given between Carlos & Charles on the rain. Ik Carlos asked for the colour on the radar (which was very smart considering its ferrari) but the fact is Charles shouldn't have had to. The engineers job is to provide ACCURATE info. Which they failed at unfortunately

I've been a McLaren fan since the Kimi days but the team has never fumbled so many races - or at least lost many positions and points- due to poor decisions as they have this season ever since I started watching F1. And when they did it didn't hurt as much because they weren't fighting for wins every race which they now are. And I'm a McLaren fan first, and a Lando fan second. Oscar is one of my favorites as well. And both of them got their fair share of getting screwed.

A driver's call comes down to his feeling in the car corroborated with the information he gets from the pitwall. The two drivers were fed completely different information. Told Charles there would be heavy rain starting in the next lap, when really it came 8 laps later. Carlos was told there would be chance of rain in S3. That's it.

He literally doesn't challenge any of the teams decisions. Accepts all decisions like a rookie afraid of losing his seat and then sulks. What disappointment? He is the disappointment. Defacto #1 driver, no threat of losing his seat yet doesn't have a spine or judgement to dictate terms to the team. Contrast that to Sainz who takes matters into his own hands, clearly tells the team he disagrees with their call and tells them what he wants and he has won races. All champions have a ruthless streak to them and leadership qualities, all which Leclerc lacks severely.

In my opinion, Mercedes is the only proper Raceteam at the moment. It's the only team which has a decent car, makes solid strategy calls and also has two drivers which they can use in a race. Next season could be even more fantastic when McLaren/Ferrari steps up their game strategywise and the top 4 are level on pace. If Red Bull gets an actual second driver it would be also exiting for the manifacutar Championship. 2012 all over again would be a dream.

The gap between sainz and leclerc widened from 4 seconds to 13 when it started raining. So the call was his. He was struggling and yet again accepted what the team offered to him. Leclerc was at fault.

I can't comprehend why McLaren continue to half decide Lando's race strategy, and leave the critical decisions to the driver. McLaren pit wall have endless data and countless minds to make these decisions, bet leave it to the driver who is already at the limit and has limited insight. You'd think they would have learnt from Russia 2021. Clearly not.

When Sainz has a good day, Leclerc can’t handle a bad car/strategy. Matt there are two things you did here that I really hate: 1.Waiting until you got your own screen time, to call out Tommy's "protective" stance on Ferrari, Mate if you don't like what he said you should raise that during the podcast in front of Tommy, also Tommy's stance wasn't protective he said Leclerc was already 5s behind the lead pack and the weather was changing so he could understand why Ferrari did that. 2.I hate that you brought up Silverstone 2022 during a tweet about Carlos, I get that Leclerc lost a win but that was 2 years ago mate and it's not like it cost him the championship, Max was always going to win, also you saying Ferrari shows favoritism to a driver they fired is so stupid, they prioritized Carlos because he was the lead driver and Faster than Leclerc throughout the weekend, even before Leclerc's pitstop.

Imo mclaren has shown multiple times now that they aren't ready to make the right calls themselfs. They always wait. Back in Barcelona they also waited too long. They need to have a pro-active mentality when it comes to strategy. Yet again they waited too long in multiple instances during this weekends race. So for me this isn't something new and actually already reoccuring. I counted like 4+ strategic mistakes. Which is just a joke. If they want to compete, they need to fix this asap. Again they had the fastest car and do not win...

Matt , you are really good but your take on ferrari this time is not right. My son was on Charles’ car view/radio and I was on Carlos’. Charles needs to learn to push back. Every other driver including Hamilton was telling his team “its too early for inter…” Lets praise Charles when he earns but lets start holding him accoutable. Charles is on major tilt and needs to refine it. He is so talented but we Ferrari fans need to hold him accountable.
