You can really tell just how much Leclerc loves Ferrari. Man was willing to risk losing out on P2(should any mistakes happen after letting Perez through) just to help the team, and came up with this plan completely unprompted in the middle of the race

@@johnnychimpo7539not for a long time. Redbulls development will taper off as the other teams find more substantial gains and they meet the ceiling of their concept development. Plus these are the most stable engines due to the engine freeze, 2026 were going to see more unreliability as they bed in new engine regs. This consistency won't happen for a long time again if ever.

do not agree. Max was managing heavily in the yellow tyres because Red Bulls was thinking of one stop. Max could push and would have been further ahead even in the yellows. Red Bulls also wanted to get the 1000 laps leading the race record for Max. Thus they want to extend the first stint as long as possible. If Max pits first, he will lose the lead for a couple of laps.

Just want to point out that Kmag was driving the new spec car to gather data on why it isn't working, in order to help with next years car development. It was utterly destroying even the hard tires, which is why he had to pit much earlier. Hülkenberg went back to the old spec car(before Las Vegas I think) which they knew much better. That was a huge influence to why Kmag was so far back all of a sudden.

What Max & RB achieved this year, was 100% the best season for a driver ever. He worked for it & proved his dominance. It was beautiful. Charles is a brilliant driver, he just needs to be more aggressive like Max, Nando & Lewis etc. That's why they're champions. They didn't win because they're polite on track. Max Verstappen’s growth and maturity in the last 4 seasons has been remarkable. He was being labeled a liability prior to the 21 season and written off by many F1 pundits and former drivers to now driving a simply lovely season with no serious mistakes that jeopardized his drive. Wouldnt say he was written off. He was literally top pick behind Lewis since 2017. He was a bit too aggressive to compensate for the lack of pace in the RB at the time. 2021 saw him in a slightly inferior car across the season and with a lead in points he went for more do or die moves. Now he doesnt really have to race, but when he does he's still that old Max.

He's still a bit overly aggressive when trying to gain positions, as seen in Las Vegas, practically pushing Leclerc off the road to get 1st. He could probably wait a corner or two to pass later, but Max will always push the letter of the law for every advantage, it's not like they're going to penalize him all that much, and people are more likely to back off than risk a race ending collision. Would be funny if Leclerc did try to hold his ground and crashed both of them out.

Basically they cobbled it together from older parts - no wonder that Carlos DNFd on the last lap due to power unit issues (although he was ranked 18th as it was the last lap). There was much more to it than Carlos driving like a snail or hard tyre problems.

Ferrari should have put Sainz on an all-or-nothing strategy and let him start on softs and let him go just 8 to 10 laps with it, then pit early on hards and see what happens before putting him on mediums near the end. Then it would at least have felt like they had tried.

The reason why I believe that the Perez incident WAS a penalty although I will say this was borderline, there was no way he could make that turn without colliding with Norris. The impact was great and could easily have damaged Lando's car and if that had happened I dont think there would be any debate about it. We keep saying that the impact of the incident should not affect the penalty and I think this is a showing of that being shown to be the case. Granted there are countless oportunities this season where it wasnt shown but we can only look forwards. Essentially I am probably letting my papaya tinted lenses get the better of me here but I do still think that it is worth a penalty. It is definitely borderline but just on the side of penalty worthy

Guys… the reliability of past eras makes it very difficult to compare the achievements, in terms of race wins in a single season, of drivers today and the past. don’t over egg the pudding, that car was miles ahead of the rest of the field and Perez had a terrible season. This is a valid point of view (as valid as yours). Max had a very good season personally. F1 had a terrible season. I hope we never see a season like this again! I suspect we will see the same next season, particularly if Perez keeps his seat. did red bull develop their car in the second half of the season? In fairness to Max he spoke a lot of sense this year. Which is to his credit.

Max reminds me of when schumi was winning. The British racing press hated him and you rarely heard anything positive about the guy as he demolished all comers. He was endlessly accused of cheating and endlessly negatively compared to Senna. Fast forward a decade or two, especially after his accident, and the narrative around him is really shifting to recognising him as the champ he was.

I’m curious how the Norris/Perez incident is any different from the Max/George incident in Vegas. Either in both cases it’s the car on the inside’s fault or the one on the outside’s fault. As both dived down the inside and made contact when the driver on the outside didn’t expect it (Lando expected it more than George but still). Either it should’ve been a penalty for Max and Checo or Lando and George.

@@gameofender4463 Your view is wrong, max hit the apex perfectly and stopped the car perfectly on the apex, george turned in towards the apex as if max wasn't there already ahead on the apex and simply crashed into the side of max, obviously George was 100% at fault for that incident and there is not a single argument to be made for him not getting a penalty for the collision. On the other hand perez was not fully ahead entering this corner, and then did not go over the apex curb, however there was still space on the outside of the corner for lando to go around perez, and even after making contact neither car had real damage and lando actually gained time by cutting the corner therefore perez did not gain any advantage from "pushing norris off track" so the penalty makes no sense. I'm sure in this example the stewards simply looked at who was ahead going into the corner (norris) and decided that it was norris who had control over where perez needed to go and so had full right to squeeze perez towards the apex. If norris smashed into the side of perez's sidepod I'm sure they would've given the penalty to norris or said it was a racing incident as it would've shown clearly that perez was ahead. In my opinion they were side by side (neither ahead of eachother) and banged wheels together with space for both cars to get through the corner without contact so it is a racing incident and this is what all of the commentators agreed upon before the stewards announced the penalty.
@fe247
@fe247 Жыл бұрын
but hitting the apex is not necessary, u have to make the corner, which perez did, and there was still room for norris on the outside, which he ofcourse ran away of and jut cut the chicane, perez was still under control and inside the track....but whatever, we know the FIA as the kings of consistency, so we believe whatever they say

@@albr4 I can see your point with the Max / George incident but it doesn't take away that at the angle Max took with the very late braking he was already going to go from inside apex to outside line and not follow the inside line he started. Anyone can overtake by dive bombing down the inside but in the George case if he didn't turn in he was going into the wall due to not turning enough or going into the run off due to him not reacting or making a decision so that is why he got the penalty, I don't think he would have if he had raced Max into the corner but it really did look like George was oblivious. Interesting enough the Saudi corner and the Vegas corner share the same trait of the thinning lane for both incidents where the outside line and inside line meeting on the straight due to track width reduction so it may be something worth looking at in regards to the line where it is decided that you are ahead/behind if we want to use this rule as in both cases neither Max or Checo were significantly ahead, you could argue small differences in both cases. I would go with racing incidents for both for the interest of racing as otherwise every overtake will just be bland DRS moves but drivers who make a habit of it like Max, George, Lewis, Ocon and Magnussen causing stupid crashes then driving standards should be the issue as we don't need Max / Lewis returning to 2021 method of come near me and I will put you in the wall as they did that to the entire grid and it is boring watching everyone cower away from the Mercedes (2014 to 2021) or Redbull (2020 to now) because they might just t-bone you since they are so quick they can still win with a broken wing and 3 wheels.

I suspect that the FIA took the approach that Checo came in too hot which is why his line though the first part of the chicane was unusual. If he’d had less speed he’d have taken the corner properly but not been ahead at the apex (which was debatable anyway). Personally I felt it could have been left as a racing incident in that the move didn’t come off, the collision was just a light bumping of front wheels, no damage to either car and Lando stayed ahead.

@@paperplane-db8qf Good racecar =/= good qualifying car. Ask the Haas boys. Miami had something to do with... What was it again... Leclerc will always crash 1 or 2 qualifying sessions over a season. Everyone could see that the RB was struggling in Singapore. He could have done better, but that car was never going to get pole. CotA track limit was a mistake. Getting beat by 0.003 seconds by a 7 time WDC is hardly throwing away pole.

Charles hasn't always been so cautious. Remember Silverstone (after _that_ Austrian race) where they went wheel-to-wheel and he pushed Max off the track, essentially in retaliation (and went on to beat Max). Which, I hasten to add, wasn't complained about. They even said they had fun! So when he's got a car which is capable of genuinely fighting with, Charles is more than able to put up a huge fight. When you think that Max beat Ascari's win percentage of 75% (which was set in the 1950s - IIRC the third ever F1 season, and has stood ever since - winning 6/8 races), by winning ~86% of the 22 races run (I think they included the Imola "race which wasn't" in the record book, so that would be ~83%), _and_ on only 3 PUs for the _entire season,_ *including the sprints, practice and quali* (when Ascari would have had as many engines and other bits and pieces as required), it has got to be seen as the greatest season of all time. Btw, Lando said that he was trying to let Perez pass because he knew he couldn't keep up with him, only Checo took his sweet time getting alongside him and then turned into him. Poor kid was quite bewildered!
