I do like these ratings videos but I feel that sometimes personal feeling about a driver has too much influence. If Alonso had an ERS failure in FP3 that resulted in just 1 qualifying lap, (with no other track time) then had a botched pitstop & drove the entire race with no radio he’d certainly get more then a 5.
@eirianerisdare803 сағат бұрын
The whole "there was an agreement" as an argument for Carlos definitely still having done something wrong is very strange, if you think about it. It's been confirmed both drivers got fed different messages as Tommy said - Carlos got the "don't put pressure on Charles" and Charles got told "he's been told not to overtake," followed by the correction "but it is very close. He has been told not to put pressure." The point is, what WAS the agreement? It would make sense if it was "follow team orders" - but since we know they were given miscommunicated orders surely that would mean Carlos should be left off the hook? If the agreement was to let Charles win, or to help Charles' driver championship then this might make sense, but it's highly unlikely as the team has always said it's constructors' first and they were going to finish in P3-4 either way. We cannot use Charles' reaction and words of "there was an agreement" to justify saying Carlos definitely has done something wrong when there was a miscommunication from the pitwall to both drivers in the first place.
@camra554Сағат бұрын
If the agreement pre race was any kind of “Charles finishes ahead of you no matter what” then I don’t blame him for disobeying at all. That’s a stupid team order when Carlos was faster all weekend. For the only championship either of them are still in the order doesn’t matter. If Charles wants p2 than he needs to be faster and get the higher position himself 🤷♂️ why should Carlos care about that and lose what could be he last podium for something that doesn’t benefit him? Especially when the only reason he’s behind him in the first place is due to Ferrari messing up his pit stop. Also if the agreement was to follow team orders than you’re right the pitwall messed that up but then why can Charles not keep calm until they go back and do the briefing? Why does he have these public blowups before he knows all the information, Carlos can do it why can’t he?
@ElectricPrincess100Сағат бұрын
You explain it perfectly. The whole "there was an agreement" ok what was it? If it was "Charles finishes ahead" then that's a bullshit agreement when no one but Charles gives a fuck about P2 in the Drivers Standings now, it has about as much relevance as P12. If Charles has a monetary bonus in his contract as some have suggested then that's Charles' job to achieve that not Carlos'. Also I don't see why Ferrari themselves would care about Charles getting P2 in the championship, they know it means nothing and they want the Constructors cause it's still within their grasp and they maximised the result regardless, they likely weren't going to catch the Mercs and if they did it would have only happened by following Carlos' proposed pit strategy and not the one the team used. If it was merely "follow team orders" then as you said the miscommunication means it's Ferrari's fault not Carlos' although the team order is still stupid why should Carlos on warmer tires stay behind. If they'd just pitted Carlos one of the many times he asked beforehand that would have freed up Charles meaning they wouldn't have lost time making the risky swap and meant they wouldn't have come out on track together when Charles eventually pitted.

Yeah, I don't get this whole "Carlos didn't follow team orders" debate. He literally did, let Charles past and almost risked being overtaken even though he had asked for a pit stop for 2 laps, which would have had the same effect. Would love to hear what the actual agreement within Ferrari before the race was. I'd be surprised if Ferrari has said something along the lines of Carlos not fighting Leclerc for position given that Sainz started ahead. Not to mention Sainz not hesitating in letting Leclerc by when asked, and managing to hold up Hamilton while doing so. Feels more like Charles was frustrated at the amount of time lost due to the graining in the early stages. Or just getting more and more frustrated with Ferrari's continuous strategic issues.

Carlos has no reason to follow that. Every position except P1 in the Drivers Standings is entirely meaningless to everyone except maybe the driver who gets that position since there might be a bonus attached to it, but that makes it entirely an individual pursuit. Ferrari don't gain anything from it, so if that was the agreement then it's stupid and Carlos was right to not follow it. If Charles was fighting for a World Championship then fair enough the overall team gains a sense of prestige with that, but not for P2. If Charles wants it he can get it himself.

At the end of the year, norris will have the better overall score than max. Looking forward how you will justify it ;)

A 5 for Lawson? I don't really agree with that one. He would have finished second to last if Alpine hadn't decided to box Ocon for softs at the end. Meanwhile his teammate is in the points.

I think George will win a title before Lando, Charles or Oscar.

I’m thinking Carlos overtook Charles after the stop despite the radio message cos he was expecting a penalty to come for him crossing the white line on the pit entry. Makes sense timing wise cos he “disobeyed” team orders right after that incident. And then maybe he didn’t respond to the radio message cos he didn’t want to highlight the infringement to the stewards by mentioning it out loud. Just my thoughts though.

How can you give ocon a 5 because of Quali, he is just a victim of the red flag caused by Colapinto!

They messed his pitstop and expect him to play the team game lol

please do something for the poor audience that can't attend your shows or live in your country. please make a short compilation of your best moments from the live show and share it with your audience here.. thanks and all the love

I guess you guys want the comments section blowing up for the algorithm.. Lando didn’t have the car and got the maximum result, Oscar disappointing and hasn’t delivered.

There is no amount of Adrian Neweys and new campus, wind tunnel and top personnel that will make Aston Martin competitive as long as mini stroller is in the team. Lawrence protecting his son when I would not even have him as front jack man in the pit crew is not doing the team any favors.

There is no way in hell Lance would have the stones to be the Front Jack-man. Those guys are awesome!! LanceaLittle is only really qualified to sweep the garage!
@soundscape26Сағат бұрын
No, Lance's performances are totally independent from the quality of the car. They have to keep working on the latter and then the former will be exposed even more.

32:05 Imagine if it was a red flag and Verstappen got ahead of 5th... he would get more points for RB if Checo had crashed xD

"We rate relative to expectation" - isn't this just overly subjective? Can't you have ratings based, in part, on Quali and Race performance (vs. teammate, overtakes, penalties, stint 1 pace, stint 2 pace). Sure, a component can be whether they have "out-performed" the car relative to where it should have finished (i.e. your subjective input) - but it's wild to bias it so much.
@bernardkuiper14962 сағат бұрын
Is it? It's THEIR driver ratings, so it's completely subjective in nature. It's wild that you expect anything else

You know that Mercedes might actually be quick in Qatar too since this time it's late in the year so it's actually kinda of cold there not like last season where the race was in October

Just had a look at the weather for the weekend in Qatar and it ranges from 18c in the night to 24c in the day. A bit warmer than Las Vegas.

Max has a bad qualifying in 2023 passes everyone to beat his teammate to who barely finished P2 in the championship, sure let’s forget he had a bad qualifying and give him a 10. Lewis has a bad qualifying beats everyone else and catches his competent teammate, let’s not forget about the bad qualifying and give him a 9. So if Max had a competent teammate would they have also given him 9’s then for not passing them? 🤔
