This is the best explanation of all the different sounds for B English I have ever come across. Thank you for putting this together for us! I wish I had focused on proper pronunciation when I started learning English. Now it is such an effort for me to enunciate when speaking English. Still, better late than never!

Thank you Matt,very useful video, great job, love it to the last bit,even the pizza!Just one point,if you don't mind ,somewhere about minute 54:45,when you talk about sound /y/,word schedule,I hear /sK/ instead of /ˈʃedʒ.uːl/ .I´m always confused with this word in BE.I tend to say /ˈʃedʒ.uːl/,is that terribly wrong?
@MattPocock5 жыл бұрын
Hi Teresa, that's one of those that can go either way, like /ˈaɪðə/ or /ˈiːðə/! Both can be considered correct :)

Hello Sir, I’m a native English speaker from Jamaica that wants to learn the British accent for TV/Film (acting) purposes. Now, I know my accent has strong British influence, can you make a video on how to go about that or include it in your new British accent project?
