In addition to breaking the Arm of Nathan Jones, Magnus is the first man to close Captains of Crush No. 4 for two consecutive reps. The following year he got certified as the 5th man to officially close it (total number of men is 6, with Carl Myerscough being the only man to do it with the inception of the credit card rule, 19 years after Magnus). Magnus also held the Rolling thunder WR with V1 at 118.8 kg (including 129.6 kg during training the following year). He is also the first man to lift the Thomas Inch dumbbell using a thumbless grip.¹ His 270*2 Bench and 140*4 Barbell Curls from World's Strongest Arms are so memorable as well. He was also a former King of the Stones, and the 2nd man to hold that distinction after Jon Pall. In addition to Atlas Stones, he was incredible with Húsafell stone carries (holds 3 different WRs with replicas) and any moving event. He also shares the Medicine ball toss WR with Zydrunas. Magnus (alongwith Svend) is the main reason behind me being a Strongman fan as a kid, and to this day he is still my 2nd favourite Strength Athlete of All-time after Hafthor. I still watch 1998 WSM and WS💪🏻s often to bring back those great memories of him, in addition to watching his latest content in KZbin. Sweden being one of my most favourite countries on Earth and my love for Farms and drinking farm fresh raw milk is both credited to him. Thank you for the fantastic video about Magnus, Matt! --- ¹ According to David Horne

Great vid as always showcasing the many great athletes from strongman. I've been watching strongman since the mid 80s with Jon Pall, Kaz and Capes being some of my favourites. Of course, I love watching the old footage bringing back the memories I had of strongman in my youth.

1 of my all time favourites AND with Brian Shaw transitioning to armwrestling it's renewed interest in Magnus coming back to the table. He is still in superb shape and active on the socials :)

Matt, do you know if Magnus ever did the Hercules Hold in competition? It would certainly be his type of event.

Yeah he did it mate, I can't remember how he used to do at it but I'd also imagine well. I seem to remember him doing it with cars

Not much difference. Maybe back in the day in lack of knowledge they overdone gear, so maybe he could achieve the same with better health. The big difference would be the help of an experienced coach, what a beast, he was always overtrained and he was on the top of the game still.

Mark is a superb choice for the grip however, the closest pro strongman to Magnus in terms of pure 'crush grip' is Mike Burke, who is a CoC#3.5 certified. What was your reasoning for Tom on the Arms? Is it solely based on the Manhood stone? Or have you seen Tom doing heavy curls? I'm curious to know.
