Ok... don't anybody laugh... but after watching this video I went outside and looked around our shed and found a few rocks laying around. I let my husband pick one... I just wrapped it like Matt did here... put it on a cord... and he really likes it! Thank you for the inspiration Matt! You're just so very awesome! 👍😉

Great story! If you give rock necklace gifts or sell them, rince and wash them with detergent for a few seconds, or if you have over a dozen, boil them in a pot of water for 30 min

This is like the Bob Ross of wire wrapping! So many wire wrapping tutorials (and those of other art forms) are loaded with a "do it exactly as I do" mentality, which robs you of the freedom to create and express yourself. I appreciate your philosophy of not needing expensive supplies, and not beating yourself up for mistakes.... "because there are no mistakes, just happy accidents." When you remove the perfectionist pressure from art, what you have left is an open platform to express yourself and create something that YOU like.

Very good video! Like many folks I have tried laying out the money, watching 'experts' on youtube, tried following their instructions on how to become a master jewelry designer and ended up with an expensive pile of knotted wire! You will never become an expert by watching 20min videos! It takes practice and a bit of confidence. This video is the way to do it. It costs almost nothing and you can try again and again until you get it right. And you will get it right eventually! You don't need all of those expensive tools either!

thank you so much for being a sharer! So many people in my years of crafting think their ideas on making things is the secret of the ages and get real snippy if you even mention the word HOW! if they know you are another crafts person from a craft show and you are looking at their work you must be trying to copy it lolol. I have always been a sharer. Why not be ? it makes me think they must be very insecure in their own work. So thank you for giving back and sharing. hugs from NC.

Yes, it's very common and very stupid to hide your ideas because it makes your world smaller to keep everything to yourself. Unless you are a multinational corporarion, the chance of someone stealing your customers by using your ideas are almost impossible.

I just started this and my first piece was pretty good. I have found that 26-28 gauge wire works better for me. The 20 gauge is difficult to work with. I am REALLY enjoying this. Thanks for the fun video and the help! Very nice!

Yes, agree. May have to start w thinner wire, then move to 20 gauge.

This is an AWESOME tutorial!!! I personally hate drilling a hole into an otherwise perfect crystal or stone and this solves that issue perfectly! I don't often buy from others online because they use electroplated wire and I'm highly allergic. I also started using stainless steel wire because it's non-allergenic, durable and doesn't corrode / oxidize. Great video!!! ^_^

You dropped a gem. The galvanized steal not rusting 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 thank you. Because the no tarnish craft wire is expensive! And I could only get 6 bracelet out of it. The different wrapping style amazing now I can wrap all my crystals and wear them instead of them collecting dust on my dressers
