Thank you, Lesa. I most often use a 20 gauge half hard wire for most components that I make. If you struggle with a 20 because it's a little thick, you can go down to a 22 gauge. If I am making wire wrapped loops I sometimes use a 24 gauge or a 26 gauge but I would never use those gauges for a simple loop. I hope that helps.
