I like the format and tips for your comprehensive sensors review 👍 I can share 3x big performance tips with you: -1- Timing chain TENSIONER needs 100kMi swap to keep engine timing evenly smooth. -2- Upstream lambda/O2 100kMi way before heater fails they get lazy reading leaner mixture! (less power). -3- Uneven cylinder contribution is caused by blow-by losses caused by stuck rings. Use higher VISCOSITY oil changed when it begins burning black. 10w40... 5w50 : cleans the wet rings✌️

Sensor start leaking oil throw electric plug after 4 month. It is easy to replace oil sending sensor on Express. It will be challenged to replace this sensor on Avalanche (2002 Avalanche required use a special socket). I replaced wit Dorman sensor from Amazon ( I think that was knockoff) . Sensor stop working after a couple month. I went to dealer, purchased overpriced sensor. GM sensor works good, no complains so fare.

@Kenichi_one4 ай бұрын
Oh man where do I start lol. I thought it was the oil pressure sensor so I changed it out the easy way just reaching back there and having the right extension and swivel attachment, but that wasn’t it. Then I changed out the little pressure filter that goes inside the oil pressure sensor hole and it was caked so I changed it out and that fixed the problem temporarily. It would throw out the alarm a week later. I got really good at changing those out really fast lol. The root of the problem ended up being that my coolant was leaking into my oil and that it why the filter kept getting clogged. So I figured that I had a blown head gasket. I had 249k miles on the tahoe at the time this was just a few months ago. I watched numerous tutorials on here to figure out how to do it. There is actually a really good one that showed step by step and so I went ahead and did it. A weekend job took me 10 days. But I did it and did it right. I changed out the head gaskets for both sides, the air intake manifold gaskets the exhaust gaskets which was a pain. New fuel injectors and spark plugs and cleaned out the carburetor ect. I spent probably around $700 in parts plus tools I needed. I just took the tahoe to Mexico on a 20 hour drive through dirt roads that were in bad shape and on the way back it took me 21 hrs to get back from Guanajuato because of the damn traffic and construction and with no problems except that my ac went out. Right now it has 254k miles on it. I hope to make it to 300k and more.

Quick question - for upstream o2 sensors, I see the Bosch 15150 you linked for $61 and also found a Bosch 15284 for $22, also on amazon/rock auto too. I know you said don't go with cheap sensors, but considering they're both Bosch, I wonder if there's a reason you like the 15150? Is it just for your specific year chevys? I see the connectors are different. Mine's an 05, was just surprised to see the price difference. Thank you.

Lots of good info here. Thanks for posting. You ran over the O2 sensors pretty quickly. Which one is up stream and which is down stream? I replaced one up stream with a Bosch 15284. Amazon says it’s up stream while Autozone says it’s down stream. The one I removed has several holes with a narrower body than the new Bosch which has a single hole and a much larger body. Also the heater code is displayed on my scanner along with O2, evap, and cat. I can’t reset them or smog my 2003 5.3 suburban while they are on. Do you gave any advice? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Subscribed! Thanks for the good content. I got a 2004 Escalade with the 6.0 Vortec. It takes a while to start in the morning, but then it’ll start up normally if I decide to start it up again right away. If I let it sit for a few hours, then it’ll take a few cranks for it to crank over. I seen this video you made and you mentioned the Cam Shaft Position sensor will make it take long to crank over. Thing is, I’m getting codes for, ‘P0651’ & ‘P0452’ It’s driving me crazy. Sometimes the codes clear themselves out on their own and come right back. & yes I know one is a 5 volt reference code, and the other code is a Evap code for the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor. But I’m just wondering if It’s that simple as ohhh I need to replace the Fuel pressure sensor, & thats why possibly my truck is taking longer to start. I’m just wondering if that’s the right direction to look at. Basically what I’m saying is, would that sensor be causing that long cranking? Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks! Oh,, & I checked the wiring harness around the engine bay, everything looked well protected, I know there’s a spot on the side where the battery is, that the harness runs over the head of the engine that is prone to damage, and that looked fine, it’s on a plastic clamp sitting nicely not touching the motor. Sooo idk 🤷♂️ Any thoughts helps Thanks!

A little more info on the knock sensors. What they do and how it affects the running engine and performance.
@sheepishmclemmingston55509 күн бұрын
An engines knock sensors are constantly listening for knocking in the engine, which is indicating a either advanced or retarded ignition cycle. When a knock occurs in the stroke it means that the ignition occurring from the spark plug is occurring either too early, or too late in the pistons stroke, so either its firing off as the piston is still in its compression movement (traveling upwards) or as its already begun its descent in what is referred to as the "Power" stroke. In either case it leads to a loss in generated power. The knock sensor, having picked up on this miscalculation, emits a small voltage signal sent to the pcm/ecm which then rectifies the issue by advancing or retarding the ignition timing. When a sensor goes bad (or the circuit wiring is somehow interrupted from either disconnection due to broken or disconnected wiring or a faulty connector prong contact) the computer registers this and will not be able to adjust the ignition timing and in many instances in electronically controlled transmission driven systems will even trip the transmission itself into "Limp" mode, ensuring that the vehicle is not able to be "driven into the grave" by an unawares or unconcerned driver. It does not ALWAYS happen, but in many instances I have come across, if the vehicle is continually operated with one or both knock sensors faulted, limp mode occurs in the transmission at some point in the near future if the vehicle is continued to be used with the sensors out of commission. Hopefully that explained things well enough. Cheers 🍻
@MattsShop8 күн бұрын
When the computer detects knocking the sensor vibrates and the computer cuts back the ignition timing and runs in a sort of limp mode to help protect the engine from damage.

Some parts of it use standard bolts, sometimes it's metric 🤯. Anyway I need help figuring out all the ground lines. It seems to me, the ones I'm aware of (apparently there's one hiding inside the body of the rear passenger window snap open window) are completely broken and disintegrated. Idk how anything is even operating. I've had four mechanics completely run me. They've done everything from loosen fuses, to removing fuses completely, taken censors I've replaced myself and swapping them out with their old ones, broke my drive shaft, completely fucked up my power steering, cross threaded my rear differential bolts, lied about putting new yolks on when fixing the drives shaft the mechanic before that one broke, completely removed my thermostat, never finished a the welding job on a CAT delete, and among other suspected things not onenof them ever suggested replacing a single sensor. Meanwhile the gromit for the PCV valve was an obvious replacement even to my amateur eyes. Most of this I have fixed and I will never let anyone touch this truck again. Mayne you, that's it. I live in Summerville SC. If I remember correctly, and I'm knucklehead so i could be wrong, you are a SC guy. Help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope.
