As part of every roof replacement service, Mattsson Roofing includes the installation of new trim on the interior of the skylight window well. When an old skylight is removed during the replacement process, there may be a visible gap or seam where the old skylight used to meet the existing sheetrock. The newer model skylight installed by Mattsson Roofing might not align perfectly with the previous skylight's position, leaving behind this unsightly gap in the sheetrock.
To address this issue, after installing the new skylight from the exterior, a Mattsson Roofing Technician will visit the homeowner's property to install a new PVC trim where the new skylight meets the sheetrock from the inside of the home.
This new trim effectively conceals the gap, providing a clean and "finished" appearance to the new skylight installation.

Is insulation necessary if there is a gap- inch or two deep between the drywall and skylight. Unlike this where I can see a pice of wood almost flush up to the drywall. Or is just the PVC trim itself OK.
