I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I've been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I've qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.

The fluke is my favorite bait to fish. I've noticed my hookups are way better with a round bend worm hook as opposed to an EWG. There's really very little plastic the hook has to go through (because of the hook slot) so a worm hook makes more sense to me. It really lets me just lean into the fish lightly and they get hooked in the top way more. Also decreases break-offs since you don't have to set the hook nearly as hard

When I first started fishing for bass 5 years ago, I exclusively used a fluke for 2 years. Twist locks are amazing at saving you from going through a ton of baits. Also belly weighted ewg hooks give it the best glide out of any weighted set up.

Have you tried a medium size twist keeper in the nose of the jerkbait screwing it down just below the shin then use a size 1 or 1/0 hook tipping through the nose of bait and the twist lock? Works great in a saltwater application. Then you can use nail weight as needed per the fall style you want. Bet it would in freshwater just as well! Happy Holidays everyone!

The fluke bite has really kicked into high gear in my area. I like throwing the fluke jr. on a finesse setup. But my favorite way to use it is to take a good 1/4 oz bladed jig that thumps as soon as that line moves, take the skirt off, and use a fluke jr. as a trailer. I jig it around like I would a normal pitching jig, popping it and stroking it, and it's really erratic. I can't tell you how many fish I've caught doing that.

Yo yo yo Matt you're a genius💡I don't know if you came up with that bob stop on the hook, either way thanks for sharing that. Usually I use the screw lock EdubG hooks when I'm flukin but sometimes I use the regular regular ones if I'm fishing around lots of downed trees and bushes also the screw lock hooks are a little more expensive. Anyway yeah I'm going to definitely use this.
