One advantage I’ve seen with the TUSH that I don’t recall you talking about is snag management. I’m walleye fishing with a slim swimbait in really rocky rivers. Instead of wedging in between rocks on the head like most hooks would, this gets the body wedged. Even with 6 lb test I’ve been able to “twang” them loose with the bait ending up off the weight. Shorter bait life yes, but no lost rig either. Great product innovation here Matt nicely done!

yep i mention it in my release videos and one of the 10 reasons why the tush is superior to traditional jigheads
@secretbassrigs Жыл бұрын
I take the skirt end of a tube, cut it almost completely except leaving 1/8" un cut. Then I cut up along the length of the tube on both sides, making a 1/8" strip. then put it around the head of the swimbait just past the line tie (add glue). The end of the strip is then placed on the point of the hook. I glue the body of the TUSH in pretty secure the night before. Eventually the strip gets shorter but it does the job around brush. Adds a different dimension to a swimbait. Secondary action.

I used the larger tush Swimbait hook with a keitech fat swimbait this last fall and it was fantastic. I believe the slight roll of the body was the key. I tried a conventional swim bait jig by owner with the weighted keel and could not get a bite. Next cast with the tush 4 lb bass. Five consecutive casts one 12 lb pike and four three lb bass. Switched back to conventional and no bites. Switched back to tush three bites in three casts. All on same keitech swim bait both lures. I am sold. Just gave tackle warehouse info to my neighbor for your lures and have turned on your tackle to several fishing guides. This is the most remarkable lure (and hover strolling rig) since I discovered the senior from a good friend ( guide on lake Powell Arizona) of Gary Yamamoto 24 years ago. Thanks for inventing lures that catch fish not fishermen.

I was a fishing guide on the upper Mississippi River pool 9 for 35 years. My father was a fishing guide for 30 years and my grandfather was a duck hunting guide on the big river since the 1930’s. I used senkos for my customers for over 20 years as they were foolproof and caught fish. Your core tackle lures will replace senkos as they are fantastic and boy do they catch fish. Much luck to you and your partners in this venture. Happy new year and good luck this coming year.

I would love to see this in a tungsten version, especially with the finesse weight ones! I use the 2.8 kietech and the 2.7 in divine and the 6th sense 2.7 doesn’t have much room to play with when trying to insert these hooks! Non the less the finesse ones will make that easier but I think tungsten will help a ton!

I was struggling to catch fish on the damiki rig, I switched to your head, and I’ve been catching them better. I fished a tournament out of the back of my buddy’s boat, and caught them on sonar. The head gave a great return on sonar. Cant wait to throw it on FFS with my boat.

I’d love to see a dedicated video on how you retrieve your finesse paddle tail swimbaits. I fish a lot of 2.8 Kietech and 3” spark shads and I mainly just slow roll them on a straight retrieve. I feel like I should be getting so much more bites than what I do get. It looked like you were letting the bait pendulum and I’d really like to learn how you do it.
@vincentgelles3805 Жыл бұрын
I hadn’t watched the whole video before my first comment and I just saw where you talked about how you were fishing it. Is that retrieve something I could do on shallow flats without much depth change or do you need a significant drop off to fish them that way?
@MattStefanFishing Жыл бұрын
Nope you can fish it that way on flats as well
@savedbygraceoutdoors Жыл бұрын
Those hooks are definitely sharp. 3/16 Tush had no problem with a ML rod and a 3.5 pound hybrid. So I can only imagine how sharp a lighter wire hook is.

I like the idea of 3/0 hook and tungsten sounds awesome as well and maybe brass as it’s cheaper ? Matt an idea I have is a small diameter wire with an inline spinner as well like a size 3 blade on 3 inch swim bait size 4 blade 9:29 on 4 inch swim bait and size 5 blade for 5-6 inch swim bait for Northern Pike :). I also like the size 3/0 hook for walleye jigging when adding a live minnow as well in 1/4-3/8-1/2-5/8-3/4oz sizes. TC
