This is SO MUCH FUN! But what about the ethics of it? Is remixing with AI okay?

It’ll be an interesting tool for certain types of creation, but sampling anything without permission strikes two separate copyrights (sound recording and performance) anytime it’s done, this is what lands tons of rappers, electronic, and pop artists in legal hot water all the time. Interpolating (not using sound recording but reworking melodic parts of the performance copyright) is causing so many pop artists to retroactively give credit and royalties to the original creators to avoid easily losing lawsuits. So yeah AI doing it would be just as illegal because from these examples, both copyrights are being easily infringed upon and man would it be an easy slam dunk case for any original rights holder to win. Just saying as a person professionally creating in the music industry for decades, this will get sticky very fast. Then of course you mention “ethics” which is another can of worms in and of itself
@CaritasGothKaraoke5 ай бұрын
Remixing with AI is exactly as okay as remixing without AI. But sampling a track without permission isn’t automatically legal. That’s how Vanilla Ice got sued. Personally, I am waiting for music to music. Not extending, but remaking. So you can hum a piano or whistle an electric guitar.

Udio has truly impressed with this update; the level of control is extraordinary, and the site is even better. It is becoming the best AI music generation platform. However, its melodies need to be more creative and better than SunoAI's. In my opinion, Suno produces the most beautiful and highest quality melodies. Additionally, Suno is more faithful to our request prompts, which is extremely important for creating music that respects different musical styles. Therefore, Suno is still superior. I am eagerly awaiting the release of SunoAI V4.

read the TOCs dude, there is nothing to be in love with about Udio, they scrape others music but you have to credit them in anything you make. In essence they are asking you to pay for their service and seeking some form of ownership over anything you make from it. Steer well clear. If you upload your own music they will use it to train their model and then anything you output from it is essentially now part theirs. They are the bad guys that will bring the tech down. They can take whatever they like from others but want ownership over anything ‘you’ generate.

I would say if you're going to upload copyright songs and make songs to get inspiration from it, keep it to personal stuff don't try to monetize it or make any money. I don't plan to do that with my Tanya Tucker parody. It was just a song for fun. It was on my talent show that I do every two weeks on my podcast, and my friends liked it, but it's just for fun purposes and I don't even monetize the podcast, so there'd be no way to make money off of it.

8:51 man… these Ai generated lyrics are starting to stick out like a sore thumb. They’re so bad 😂 Everything else is great. Look up the song on Udio “God, are you there?” By DannoOppo, “House of the rising Sun” (and look for the film score gospel versions) and also “Memory Lane by Nubbu. So good. You can tell the difference between real lyrics someone actually crafted (even if they used AI to assist) vs autogenerated. Btw “God, Are you There?” is actually a legit classic song, a total hit.

Hey bro thanks for the video! Do you have Any idea why UDIO doesn't generate Lyrics or singing when I upload my audio? It just stays as a instrumental all the time... Thanks in advance!
