I love the Hornet. It is the SEAD and future anti-ship capabilities (among many other things) that will keep me enjoying the Hornet after the Tomcat gets added to my hangar.

Its what i love about the hornet, its the diversity of missions it can do, Honestly its the plane if you have money to get one, get this when its finished, it can do CAP, CAS, SEAD, anti ship, i dont see any other planes doing what it can do other than maybe the f16, but even then the 16 cant do carrier ops and antiship so i still think the f18 will have more diversity than it

This sim could really use a DTC to preset up all the EW chaff flares radar rwr etc. For a new person trying to learn I just spent better part of4 hours trying to figure out why in a mission I could NOT get Harms to show like they do in the Caucasus training mission. None of the videos I watched mentions you have to turn on the ALE-67 and in the training missions its automatically on. Somewhat frustrating but once I figured it out smooth sailing. Killed 2 SA 6s but didnt get that MIG 23 b4 it got me.

As far as I can tell, it makes it easier to cycle and choose the radar you want to target. The fact you can see elevation also allows you to make a rough estimate of the range.

So, I understand how to use this mode now. Just seems like a more complicated version of SP mode. As the pilot, what is the operational application of TOO, and why would I use it instead of SP?

Lets say you´re in an AAA enviroment with for example lots of "Fire Can" and "Fan Song" Radars and some enemy airplanes and stuff. Your RWR is lighting up like a christmas tree and stuff. You and the strike package you´re are protecting are going in Angels 20. With that the Fire Can is no real threat. So with the cluttered RWR you´ll maybe will have a hard time to single out the FS. With TOO you just can do that. Or if one flight is going for the FS and another for the FC they can just let those signals through that do matter to their mission. Would it work without TOO? Shure, but if you have mastered the system it becomes much easier.

I think (might be wrong) that in reality the HARM seeker can slew the A/G radar to its line of sight on an emitter and then get a direct slant range to the threat, obviously however we do not currently have the A/G radar mode.

I noticed that when you launch a HARM your screen on the left doesn't reset each time like mine does. Every time I launch a HARM the screen on the left reset and I have to wait for it to search again. Anyone know why?

It should be easier to pick out specific targets in front of you if there are a number of emitters in that direction than with SP and the RWR display. It is more three dimensional as well, so you can also get a sense of how far away they are based on where they are in relation to your boresight (i.e. lower = closer).

It would be extremely useful in a target rich environment and you are tasked with clearing a specific avenues of approach. Remember you would never do this sort of mission alone and you would have other aircraft tasked with the same job. So areas can be cleared. Again all in a target saturated environment and as part of a larger package.

By time you set up this harm without targeting pods or Lantern pod you're blown out of the air when you going to develop the targeting pod say not to go through all these sequences $80 is a lot for a game without any type of laser guidance system
