Does she really love you? - Being duped by bad Filipina's in the Philippines

One of the biggest reasons people get duped by bad Filipina's is down to trust. The phrase "she told me she loved me" is normally the most common phrase I hear after someone has pretty much lost everything that they willingly gave away to someone they hardly knew.

Its amazing how wrong you can be about a person sometimes. Periodically evaluate your situation and consult with friends. Don't assume others think the way you do.

Just my two cents. It's a different thing when it comes to online dating. That's why most foreigners fall into the lure of bad Filipinas. Internet is not a serious venue when it comes to relationships in the context of Filipino courtship. If you didn't know already, Filipino dating scene requires courtship. A guy has to meet the girl in the house of the girl where he can meet the family. You should win her heart and it should be in the house where you meet the family and get to know them. If a Filipina girl just meet you in the street or a cafe and you didn't get the chance to see her at home and meet her family, chances are you are doing it wrong or you might be falling for the wrong girl.

+chris toper agree, the internet is like reading a book it opens peoples imagination but also allows manipulation. Wouldn't say its impossible to meet someone good online would say that over time its got harder. As more people have access to computers and more people are aware of how easy it is to scam people online its becoming harder. Etiquette is still important but also depends on the family as things have been gradually changing. Not saying all for the better but the expectations are lowered. You will still come across many traditional families but it may not be "enforced" for courtship, at the same time it doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated as its a sign of respect.

EXCELLENT !! Please listen to Matt, he has really nailed it, don't trust these Filipino girls, I live here and Iv met so many really nice genuine down to earth guys from the U.S and Canada who have met girls online and more currently on Face-Book, and have just been ripped off and dumped once they arrive here and the money has gone, just exactly like Matt has said, and I have ended up lending them money, feeding them, getting them back to the airport etc etc, sure there may be a few genuine girls, but unfortunately most are not , take heed of this presentation, it will save you a lot of heartache !!!

This time it's the opposite. I talked to some men on the internet, but most of them asked me for money. About 90 percent were scammers. They take advantage of women--especially if they know that the woman is retired with income from retirement and/or social security. Can't really trust anyone on the internet. The Best thing to do is meet the person face-to-face and go from there. I still chat with men on the internet, but once they mention money, they're gone--blocked and deleted.

I agree it's not just a guy thing. As it's an industry that began even in a letter or holiday romance but now a full blown money making machine. Meeting the right person takes time and others may find it dismissive so easily getting rid of people but it's part of recognising the bad.

That's some undeniable humor in trends. There's medleys of families in the states, and areas where generational migrations come up, even to specific cultures. I find it very funny for men to actively scout so much. Of course everyone has family interests, but why do such guys not learn to better play up their personalities?

A lot of sense spoken in this video; an interest in the life of the other person is the crux of it - it's harder for the romantic extortionist to counterfeit genuine interest and depth of dialogue than it is for them to gush with false affection. If dialogue revolves around compliments and a stoking of limerence followed by requests for cash or items, those are colossal red flags. While Filipinos are naturally affectionate people, a girl who is genuine of heart follows up their affection with real emotion, focus and respect and will most definitely introduce the Westerner to family and friends in a dignified way. In PH, purposeful isolation often feels 'off' even to a lovestruck foreigner; it's at this point that the victim commonly snaps out of the haze and break things off, hopefully without having lost too much cash and without getting too distressed or ashamed.

its not hard to tell if a woman loves you or not.you just have to step back from the situation and look at it with subjective eyes.i see so many men here on youtube with their g.f and I can tell immediately wheather or not the girl really loves the man.let me tell you that I would tell half of these guys to run away as fast as they can.

there's a thing called "inggit" that foreigners don't understand. some filipinas ask for money or material things not because they like but because they want to prove something. For example: We know a someone(a filipina) who is married or in a relationship with a foreigner. This foreigner buys her everything and the Filipina lives in extravagance. And this will be the standard thing for every Filipina-foreigner relationship. If Filipina 1 has a foreigner boyfriend that buys her stuffs, why Filipina 2 who also has a foreigner boyfriend doesn't get so much? Most of the time it happens only with foreign men for they are perceived as money machines.
@mattwilkie
@mattwilkie 9 жыл бұрын
+chris toper the English version of "inggit" is ENVY and it would be more relevant to foreigners due to the majority of foreigners having incomes or savings well above the average Filipino. In the UK its often termed as keeping up with the Jones's as it becomes a false competition of extravagence. Trying to out do each other on material things and pretty much everything else. But it does go on in the Filipino communities overseas as well, e.g. someone gets a new iphone within a group so the next thing is everyone has to have it regardless of financial troubles. In the Philippines when I first moved to Minglanilla none of the other houses were painted, everyone was "grey". I painted the exterior of our home and now every house is painted. The reason it stands out as "expats" is simply they are spending more in a smaller space of time.

+matt wilkie the thing is everyone in the family of the "filipina" asks her why isn't your boyfriend giving you so much? And then they go back to the proposition that westerners have tons and tons of money. The Filipina has to prove her family and friends that her boyfriend means something by asking him lots of things. This is true for some Filipinas. I don't generalize though. There is a big difference between perception of good life between westerners and some filipinos considering Philippines is a developing country. Given your example of a newly painted house in the neighborhood. It might be normal in the west (or in the entire world). So a foreigner believes that a house should be painted without the thought of it being fancy. But since you are painting a house in a "rural" area in the Philippines, everyone will believe that you are bringing a good life since a painted house is already a luxury in that area. Hence the perception that all foreigners is a key of upgrading a lifestyle when you are actually just doing and thinking what is normal to you.

+chris toper that is an important point regarding bringing wealth, but where people go wrong is getting caught up in the envy of others. I know someone's brother in-law who spends most of his time in my friends car for example as if he owns it when he's actually only supposed to use it when picking my friend up from the airport etc. But the perception of everyone benefiting to suit "themselves" is where I draw the line as its part of the problem of holding the Philippines back. An uncle of my wife is a very successful business man in Cebu. He does cockfighting and if he wins people will knock his gates expecting to share in his wealth. If its their birtthday (bearing in mind he hasn't seen them all year) they will do the same. I have a simple phrase that I ues to define how I deal with this "If they don't expect it I will buy a gift, when its expected I get them nothing". Because it has to be valued in the first place. If its just expected then its worth nothing. Which when you're the one working for and paying for it I don't agree with giving it away because someone wants something for free. It has been devalued by the hangers on. At the same time my father and mother in-law don't ask for anything, had issues with some of the extended family previously but if they were allowed to "milk" the cash it would have ended in everyone being dragged down. Because lthey don't value you earning the money in the first place or the gifting. Did it have a negative affect? Answer is no, as several other people sided with us who are also far better off by cutting out those who were riding on the back of everyone else. Did the ones who were cut off get badly affected? Answer is no as they now stand on their own two feet and now in America. Would they have done the same if using other members of family as a retirement fund and construciton fund for themselves? Answer is probably not, would they have given back in return if successful? Probably not. Which gets back to the point that if its expected its of no value.

Even some foreigners men are scammers too. I experienced American and British man, they tried to get your trust then eventually they wanted me to send them money. They have strange reason to convince you to send them money. But I'm not saying all foreigners are bad. Because I met good man also. Just like Filipina, not all are bad, whatever nationality you have or country you came from. Some of them are bad and good. So just careful to talk to them. When it comes to money, you will find out if they are bad or good.

Most the time those American or British men are actually from somewhere like China or Africa...or even the Philippines. They will often go through and scam dating sites looking for lonely women. Not saying that there are not scammers in western countries - there are lots of them. Just, the payoff from scamming someone in the Philippines wouldn't even cover rent.

I sent 4.000p one day .. she was pissed at me.. not enough she said. She called it quits 3 weeks before i was to go and meet her. I paid for the doors and windows in her house. Now she pissed me off. I meet this Filipina online, never meet her fiscally. She seems a very hard working woman, a real catch. She is into me as I believed till today. We made a "pact" where we agreed of not keeping secrets. We've been cheating online for quite some time, and only once I saw her on live chat. Long story short, we both think fall in love, I like an independent woman with strong values and secure about herself. Her problem is that she avoids telling me things that I consider important as engaging in a relationship like she says she trusts me, but not enough to tell me anything I want to know, nothing demining or shameful. Just want to know how come i never knew when she have a new job, or what is she doing? Some questions to move forward in a conversation. I told her what i do, even the not so good things sometimes i have to do to get money, i am 100% into her like that, cause I do like her and I wish I can be with her. But when I ask her cause I am confused or ignorant of what's going on, she played the victim and turns things around to make me look like I'm disrespecting her or been rude. She turned around and stop talking to me. My question is, is Filipinas are arrogant people, or just don't like to be bothered with questioning? Remember what I said we made a pact, to share our secrets, why is she so private and get mad when is ask in a nicesest way possible???? Can someone educate me in this matter?

I agree as I warn people about things I know from experiences others have had. As I am sure you would be able to recognise a lot of traits that are common in the way some people act. The large majority are easy to spot but often the person you are trying to warn would rather argue with you than accept there is a problem.
