The moment that Matty shares he grew up Mormon and that man’s face instantly changed made my heart burst. It's the General prayer for food. It's called the Hamotzi, or the Motzi for short (Ha means The in Hebrew) It's the bread prayer. Blessed are you, Lord our God, ruler of the universe who brings forth bread from the earth. There's a prayer for fruit, meats, dairy etc. But if you're having a whole meal the Motzi is all encompassing bc honestly nobody has time to bless each part of the food because otherwise it will get cold.

The traditional Jewish view of Islam is generally positive. A few hundred years ago, rabbis ruled that it is permissible for a Jew to pray in a masjid but not permitted to pray in a church. I don’t think the rabbi would have any issues with Muslims as people.

Jews generally don’t have issues with Muslims, matter of fact there are tons of muslim people who live in Israel who enjoy the same rights and privileges. Lots of Jewish people seek out arab and Muslim foods both in Israel and in the western world.

As a little boy my grandma brought me to a small Jewish deli in Brooklyn NYC. I have never had a better Ruben sandwich in my life there, and I don’t think I ever will unless I go back to Brooklyn again and try to find that shop. They were so friendly to me and my Grandma I will never forget how they were concerned about her and me being out and about that night and offered one of their employees to walk us to the bus stop so that we would be safe. Funny thing is my family isn’t at all Jewish we are Catholic. God bless the Jewish people.
