Absolute brilliant guy and guest. Maybe my favourite at this point. A credit to his family.

It's mad I felt suicidal a few months back, for a while. Diabetes, unemployed, debt, living back at home etc. And honestly Matt Piper really touched me with that story. It's definitely about having a focus for a lot of people. I'm on my way up now though. Working even through this coronavirus time!

That's really good to hear. Hope things keep going well for you. I love this podcast. It's great to hear all the stories about shit managers, nights out and birds and cars and goals scored but I am also really finding all the stuff about lads's dark times and how they've come through those challenges or found help really valuable and encouraging. The Under The Cosh lads are doing some great work and can even see that they seem to be gaining from these discussions.

Brilliant stuff as always from the Boys - but I think Pipinho might be one of my favourties. Comes across as a great chap and big respect to anyone who's as honest and as open with their struggles. It's great to see the podcast mix the banter with shining a light on issues like these and projects like Piper's academy. Thanks for this boys, making lockdown a bit more bearable! BOOM!

I suffer with a communication disorder which means I’m quite socially awkward I’ve always found life hard and I moved to university in the summer and moved away from home the first few weeks were fine and I interacted with people fine enough but I was going out too much and drinking too much and my work was getting on top of me I ended up drinking every day just to deal with the days I’m back at home now I’ve left university and was diagnosed as having depression shortly after I returned home I’m looking for work now and I got into going to the gym and got more of a routine back it’s so important to have a focus and routine that’ll really help your mental help it’s reassuring to hear even professional athletes struggle so I don’t feel alone love the podcast keep it up lads

What a top bloke pipes is I might be a bit biased being a lcfc fan but been a under the cosh fan from the early days and there's been some outstanding guest's but this is up there with shithouse and Andy Johnson's the honesty and openness of the interview is top draw. Pipes does some excellent work in the Leicester community and is brilliant on local radio and I mentioned before his channel is really good for aspiring footballers and coaches. The strength of character is something to admire it really is to be told your career is done at 25 must be heartbreaking. 🦊

@VillaBoys1234 жыл бұрын
In training with no pressure I imagune he was. Very talented. As a kid he was a top top prospect a ball playing centre back one of the new breeds. Could still play but he was not a committed guy, pisshead, overweight constantly and an absolute clanger in him most weeks. Didnt seem arsed. Retired early no surprise.

I've been put on 'furlough' for the foreseeable (Absolutely fan-bloody-tastic - i fucking hated my job and I won't be going back) Anyway, as soon as the 30th April comes around and I get paid, I'll be joining and gorging myself on the podcasts i've yet to see on patreon. Great video. I don't know what it is with the footballers turning to alcohol. I knew of someone who became a pro footballer for a league 1 club. He didn't make any impact and eventually fell through leagues and retired. When he got bombed out originally he began drinking a lot and clubbing every night, to an excessive point. Before he became pro he never really drunk. It must be something about the industry. I think the career of a footballer is so good where everything is taken care of, your with your mates most days, most footballers get a degree of adulation and I think it being at such a high and facing boring normality again messes some of them up mentally. Especially if they are not financially secure for life, which most players aren't
