Actually, the commonality is that he generally takes a good little before he layers in new instruments. Otherwise, he makes his songs quite different from one another, uses interesting sounds I'd say most don't try, and generally creative tunes.

I really like this DeadMau5, it's a soulful minimal beat. Great in a very noisy world (lately). Reminds me of the old skool origins of dance genre in the UK. You don't need to have lots of cool shit going on for something to be amazing.
