Her paintings always make me so happy. I have a few prints of her art work I got at AGNS and when ever I see them I smile. I am a hopeless romantic and want to run away and live in a painted house and sell folk art and jam :)

I am glad that the little house is in a dry spot spared from corrosion, thank you Halifax NS for saving it.

It is wonderful that you restored her little house and have a place where people can appreciate her sweet art. I would love to come here and visit!

This woman is not only a national treasure, but she is an international treasure and an inspiration to all who knew her and those who will come to know who she was. Rest in paradise dear Maude. She's painting the clouds now.

I just watched “Maudie” starring Sally Hawkins and giving a brilliant performance as Maude Lewis. After watching her equally brilliant performance in “The Shape of Water”.

Interesting article. Didn't Fred Trask donate the house to the Art Gallery. It would be nice if Mr. Trask was recognized for his generous gift. At the very least there should be a plaque with his name engraved. Is there !.

I believe the Tiny House first time started by Everet Lewis's house, long time before Maudie Lewis popular and before Tiny house popular. Beautiful Tiny house, inspired..

I have always loved Maud Lewis' paintings and when my teacher asked us to do a project on anything that represented Canadian Identity I just jumped at the chance to do her. I dont suppose that you wouldnt mind sending me the photos in that video because they are by far much better than the ones I've come up with on google images. Thanks so much!

Well narrated. But you mention Hardship. Did they not get that wealthy? Her work would suggest that it was desired. Or did others benefit from her art

They lived in poverty ,she sold her cards for 5 cents. Like most artists she was only recognised after she had died.
