I loved my trip to Maui last summer! I loved the snorkeling, so many turtles on the Western side, especially at Honokeana Bay! The reef is also spectacular on the west, especially at Coral Gardens, Honolua Bay, and Kapalua Bay, and Kahekili Beach. Also loved the beautiful Martian-like views in Haleakala National Park, also saw some endangered Nene Geese up there! Also enjoyed the Waihee Ridge hike on the west too! Can’t wait to come back in the winter months someday for whale-watching!

We had a very difficult time finding parking when we went to west Maui to see the beaches. Out of pure frustration, I ended up turning around and going back to Kihei to sit by the pool.

We can't wait to be back. Our first visit was in Nov. 2019 for our 25th Wedding Anniversary! We are hooked! Haha! Question: I am staying in Wailuku instead of at the beach - are the beaches adjacent to the resorts accessible to non-resort guests? I know there are some beaches in Florida, for example, that are closed off to the public. Thanks again! Also, has anyone ever told you that you look eerily similar to French actress Noémie Merlant? Aloha, all beaches in Hawaii are public. Look for the public access paths and public parking lots. No beach is private or off limits. Have a great time on Maui!

Still looking for things to do, little bummed that Iao Valley is going to be closed. We are doing road to Hana on 2nd day, but are going to try and drive straight through to Pipiwai trail and then make our way back stopping along the way. We have reservations already at black sand beach.

Agreed, we were disappointed the moved the opening date of 'Iao Valley from mid February to April. Enjoy the drive on the backside. Check Kipahulu District (Pipiwai Trail) as they have been closing it due to the rains.

that will be 3 years in a row (i think) for snow on Haleakala in February. Yes, bad weather on the islands. We delayed our trip to Oahu and Big Island for this week. We moved to the mainland in the fall so are no longer living in Hawaii. We go back often though!

We enjoy the beach access, the beach in general is a great place to visit, sea turtles, and good marine life. We enjoy a Molokini Crater tour but not everyone can make it out on a snorkel tour during their stay.

I was very hesitant to book a trip to Hawaii at first cause it seems like there are so many options that it's a bit overwhelming when you don't have a clue, but with your itinerary I feel like all the difficult part was taken care of and now it's only about relaxing and doing the activities we are aiming for! Our whole family loves your videos, we are very excited to finally visit this summer! I had a question about transportation at Maui. In most of your videos you mention renting a car and finding parking spots or going with tours who take you to the locations, but is it feasible to just take Ubers or Taxis to all these places, or that's usually more expensive than renting a car?

Thanks so much for the great comment! That is great that you get the whole family watching the videos. We try to be as helpful as possible as we agree, it can be overwhelming. If you stay in Kaanapali or Lahaina, then you can get around without a rental car by using the Kaanapali shuttle, Uber, taxi, etc. But to get around the whole island than a rental car would be cheaper. I very much want to go to Hawaii.. Specifically Maui and Kauai. That being said lately I've really been thinking about the shark situation in the waters. I realize attacks are most likely few and far between, but I know they do happen. It's an odd question to ask but wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this. I've looked up things like avoiding swimming at Dusk and Dawn and try not to swim alone.

they say swimming at dusk and dawn is more of an urban legend, ask any surfer. They recommend avoid swimming in murky water and far from shore. Check lifeguard signs as they will post shark sightings. Swimming with a buddy is always a wise decision!

We have stayed on 5 of the islands. Your choice between the two you have chosen will have their own experiences which these guys have well documented. Our choice for years now has been Maui around Kihei area for a more relaxed vibe, beaches and dining. But you have many opportunities whatever you choose.
