This week’s video continues my series in the great Aloha state of Hawaii. I start by saying good-bye to the wonderful Island of Maui and Honua Kai resort and begin the 100 mile journey from Kahului to Honolulu Hawaii. So what if it's corny? (Cue the trumpets!) Ba-ba-ba-baaaaa-baaaaa-baaaaaa-ba-ba-ba-baaa-baaaaaaaaa.... First morning views...wow. Michelle is like "Why are you filming me?" LOL - had those moments with AnonyMommy before. Mahalo means kick the seat? Big Southwest fan. Yeah, that flight was even shorter than PHX to SD on our West Coast trip back in 2019. I MIGHT take the ferry...just to say I rode an ocean. Just an amazing idea with beautiful views. Like a short cruise. But yeah. Smarter cost-wise. 11:19 I THINK that's the hotel we stayed at to cover the Badgers when they played Hawaii 14 years ago. (14 years ago? I'm old.) "Aloha, Michelle!"

Always start with the Hawaii Five-0 theme, it's a great hook! I think the ferry would have been cool to experience, the scheduling and time constraints just didn't let it happen. I'll save it for the next trip! 😁

I don't know how you actually do things there. I think I would just stand around in awe of all the views. I was following a sprint-car driver on social media for a while, and he would leave his race car on Maui, where the track is, and commute to and from home on the flight you took. It seems so weird to me, but it's probably nothing for them. And we were flipping channels the other night and stopped on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives," and Fieri was at musician Mick Fleetwood's restaurant in Lahaina. Isn't that where the resort was?

I did really spend a lot of time just sitting around just soaking up the amazing views! 😎 That flight from island to island is a little shorter than my drive to work, so I can see how the driver did it so often. Our resort was in Kaanapali but the sunset cruise we took was out of Lahaina. We did a little walking around the town at night afterwards but I didn't get much good footage out of it; was kind of dark.😁 It was a really nice seaside town.

Not sure why but it didn’t really occur to me that travel between the islands was often by plane. I guess not having been there you don’t understand the distance between the islands. A 24 minute flight sounds doable and $59 is a great price. What was your favorite part of the trip and are you planning to return?

Yeah, I never really thought about the whole concept of going island to island until we started planning. Not sure if I'll ever get back there, hopefully someday! 😊🏖️
