Maultier / Sd.Kfz. 3 (Opel Blitz on tracks)
Maultier or Sd.Kfz. 3 was the name given to series of half-track trucks used by Germany Army. Opel Blitz trucks were built by the German Opel automobile manufacturer from 1930. From 1939, the Blitz was used in large numbers by the German armed forces throughout World War II. Soon after invading the USSR, German troops discovered that their wheeled transport vehicles were unsuitable for the sparse road network.

Excellent explanation! However, as you say, "most" Maultiers were based on the Opel Blitz, although not all, and examples of this can be found at 2'44" and 3'13". These look like V300S/SSM vehicles, judging by the radiator design, the more rounded bonnet and the absence of the Opel Blitz lightning flash emblem.
