An interesting game. The Marino knee injury late in Q4 put him on the sidelines for the rest of reg season. He returned during divisional round of playoffs vs. Seattle but was a little rusty in the first half of that close upset loss to Seattle. As well, Miami DC Bill Arsparger announced his departure to LsU before the game - Shula looked to other side of the field and noted that oiler Interim HC Chuck studley’s team had played Miami hard on defence. Shula hired Studley to beMiami DC starting in 1984……with disastrous results as the killer B’s regressed defensively from 1984 through 1987 under Studley and Miami became a one dimensional passing team. Lots of long term negative repercussions (despite this win) to consider for dolphin fans from this game.

I remember this one because I was at a friend's house and his dad helpfully informed me the Fins were trailing by 7 in the 4th. I thought it would be an easy win so I was like, 'WHAAAAAT?!"

Do u happen to have the game between the Dolphin @ the Colts from early Jan 1983 (last game of the strike shortened '82 season). I think the Dolphins won something like 35-7?

It kills me to have to say this, but this exact same uniform match up happened in the same stadium just 2 years prior. I thought it was unique too until I looked it up.
