Oh, those pats had Miami's number that year. It seemed like Dan was going to get intercepted on just about every pass he threw against the pats that year. And in the AFC Championship Game these 2 met with the Pats winning seemingly easy in a game where it rained all day. Worst part was there was talk the Pats had found Miami's playbook in a trash can earlier in the week before the game.
@garthornspike36482 жыл бұрын
Two things that this game brings to mind. First, how did this Dolphins team hand the Bears it's only defeat? Second, how did this Patriots team make it to the Super Bowl? After 36 years I am still perplexed.
@djeanpierre2 жыл бұрын
The Dolphins were uniquely talented on offense to beat the Bears defense. Also, in the AFC Championship, the Dolphins turned the ball over 6 times and that killed them.
@deadeye45208 ай бұрын
Here is how they beat the Bears: Chicago had scouted the AFC fully expecting to make the Super Bowl. They concluded that Miami was the most likely opponent, so when they played them on MNF, they used an intentionally vanilla game plan saving their best real strategies for the SB. Additionally they played Miami with a backup QB, and it was in the Orange Bowl, and thus it becomes easier to understand why the lost. Had Miami made the SB, they would have lost to the Bears by a similar score as the Patriots did.

As a Pats fan, remember the '85 season well - was a senior in college when this game was played. Took me back to just how bad Tony Eason really was, how undisciplined the Pats were at times (even during a great season in '85), and how bad things got for them after '86. Good reason to appreciate the three great quarterbacks (and great coaching and ownership) they've had since '93.
