"Aesthetics are important. We want to play exciting, good,.......ATTACKING football." Amen. Shockingly....lol....US Soccer got this right in terms of hosting this WC and creating a positive perception of the USMNT that will grow and make the game more attractive here. Poch's teams play on their front foot...with a cup half full mentality.....which should be a breath of fresh air and inspirational, albeit not without risk. IMO, perception is almost as important as results for the USMNT in this WC and I'm excited that an attacking style of play COULD result in our winning. long term, even in defeat. If there ever was a time for us to push all our chips into the middle of the table and express ourselves....its now. Welcome Poch!!

I am so excited and USA till i die, but it's still a very long road. I hope that we keep the right perspective, develop the right culture and players, and give him the support and resources we need to be an actual world class team. I would be thrilled if he stays longer than the world cup in 2026. But if he does I think truly great things will happen.

I’m excited to see what Pochettino’s leadership and vision can do for the USMNT. But I’m more impressed that U. S. Soccer managed to post this recorded video with the closeup camera audio fixed without botching it a second time. That was an unfortunate “amateur hour” look at the start of what should have been an exciting rollout of the new coach.

Ironically, the NIL changes that are going to kill college football would actually benefit soccer players. USSF can start paying high school players for their NIL and start recruiting the best athletes and keep them in soccer. The US has good athletes in soccer, but it's a numbers game, a numbers game we have not been winning with respect to keeping soccer players in soccer.

I don’t think he was the best man for the job. USA needs a coach who knows about American mentality and soccer. Columbus coach deserves a chance. Bring in Landon Donovan as assistant coach.

There is no American mentality in soccer unfortunately. Jürgen Klinsmann set the baseline for American soccer he wasn’t the best coach but he was the best men for the job at the time.Hopefully now Mauricio Pochettino can push the US onward

@@SandManGaming. There absolutely is. There is a big difference between soccer and futbol. Americans have this winning mentality that no other country has but fail to capitalise on it. Americans need to play soccer instead of trying to be good at futbol.
@SirSayakaMikiThe3rd
@SirSayakaMikiThe3rd 4 ай бұрын
This is absolute crap. He is the best man for the job. You need to get over yourself. Japan actually learned from the best and emulated what worked in Europe, now they are consistently getting signature wins. People like you want to pretend like American soccer has some kind of X factor. No, we need to be humble and learn from the best.
@CptCadoodles
@CptCadoodles 4 ай бұрын
@@SirSayakaMikiThe3rd Americans are not humble lol But that’s also what makes great athletes. Lebron and Curry know they’re the best. Tom Brady knew he was the best. Whoever is the best American MLB player knows the same. Soccer players need to be brought up the same way. America has the best facilities for youth athletes. The problem is they try to bring Europeans to tell them how to play soccer.
@SirSayakaMikiThe3rd
@SirSayakaMikiThe3rd 4 ай бұрын
Blah blah blah. The NBA, the NFL, and the MLB are the strongest leagues for their respective sports by far, and they are also distinctly American. That having been said, Shohei Ohtani and Jokic are among the best, if not the best, in their respective leagues. Being humble doesn't mean that they need to be cowardly. You clearly didn't listen to Poch. He said that his goal is to win the world cup, he wants to develop an aggressive and flashy style of play to appeal to Americans, and he wants them to be arrogant. That's essentially what you are talking about mentality wise.
