You just saved me a ton of time trying to figure this thing out. I appreciate your efforts.

Thank you very much. These are the videos the companies themselves should do! Perfect.

I feel like a big secret to this plugin is the look-ahead. For those wondering, this plugin's action compares favorably to Waves Vocal Rider. It doesn't have automation write anymore but it's more adjustable.

What about MSpectralDynamics on master bus? Do you use it? If so, how do you use it?
@Chandlerguitar7 жыл бұрын
I might use it for mastering afterwards, but you could use it on the master bus. I just use it to balance the frequenct spectrum. if there a certain points in a song where it suddenly gets too bassy or there is too much treble MSD will take care of it.

Chandler guitar Thanks for the quick reply. How about the typical settings? Do you apply it 100% wet? Is it after or before a mixbuss compressor?
@Chandlerguitar7 жыл бұрын
I'd use it before the mixbus compressor and I'd usually use it 100% wet, but it depends on the situation

Why doesn't have it no automation writing anymore?
@Chandlerguitar2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure exactly, but I beleive because it wasn't accurate because the resolution in the DAW wasn't high enough. I'm not completely sure though.

Seems to me like a compressor for newbies. What's the difference to a compressor than a different interface? Or is it leveling out loudness units?
@Chandlerguitar5 жыл бұрын
It doesn't work in ratios like a compressor, so that is one difference. At extreme setting there isn't a difference between them, but at more moderate settings IMO it sounds more natural than a compressor. This will also adjust the volume up and down. I often times use this and a compressor together.

Chandler guitar Thanks for your answer! But we all know the countless amount of more or less "natural" sounding compressors out there. Depending on the material to work with the application reaches from simple gain reduction, transient shaping, sidechain ducking and "eq-ish" manipulation, de-essing, bus glueing up to master compression respectively dynamic shaping. And yes ... all that and more is yours when you know what you are doing and why. This plugin might - as you say - sound natural but doesn't seem natural in its use. And that brings one back to the question: Do I really know what I'm doing with this plugin? But let's see ... I'll give it a try anyway. Maybe it's actually more than a compressor. :)

melda has awesome plugins but their interfaces are butt ugly and not visually intuitive, nice tut
@michailluuko39095 жыл бұрын
For Sonar users it's OK. As we can see the default color schemes of Melda plugins and Sonar DAW match so well and it is the reason to buy Melda plugins.))

They are great plugins, very complex. And yes, they look like plugins from the 70ies 😆😂

Wow that was useless and isn't the detector for what the sidechain listens to it won't effect your sound I might be wrong but do some research first.
