Last year was the first year I carried binos, on a harness, into the deer woods, in almost 40 years of hunting. I just never really felt I needed them. I was wrong. I was able to identify bucks, I only would have guessed on, in the past. I shot a nice 10pt that I was able to confirm was down about 60 yards away. In the past, I would have backed out, waited until dark, picked up the blood trail, etc. My 10x42 really added to the enjoyment of the hunt. This video has enlightened me to also invest in a higher power set, for those low light situations on a ridge top, or in wide open areas. Thanks!

Every Maven I've tried and tested have been stellar. Excellent quality even in their "budget" line.

Been watching your videos for years and it's great to see the improvements on the production quality (b-roll, lighting, etc.) over time.

I use a spotting scope out in mule deer type country when rifle hunting. The 4x16 50 rifle scope is a big plus. Deer hunting with my bow the vortex 10x42 are excellent for very low light situations. I can easily see pigs under the feeder after dark if there is any amount of moonlight at all. I use the 10x42 for the3-d courses to find that12 score ring in all conditions. AS ALWAYS A GREAT DETAILED REVIEW. 👍👍👀

7x28 is a rare configuration. Unfortunately, because it's a very good compromise between size and low light performance. 4mm exit pupil in such a compact binocular is very attractive.

Nice video. I’d heard of the Maven name but didn’t know much about their products. Thanks for highlighting them.

I bought the maven 7x28. The sweet spot is too small and to much distortion in the rest of the optic. Unfortunate because 7x are very hard to find

You should mention to your viewers, the option of getting vortex diamondback 8x32. Keeps you in the sub 250 dollar range with a little more low light capability. Great video man. Great information.

Yes those should also be a pretty solid option, comparable to the 7x28 here with a touch more magnification.

I have the Maven B.5 18x56 for spotting off of a light weight tripod instead of using a spotting scope because I don't like one eyed searching and absolutely love them! I also have the RS.2 2-10x38 SPF rifle scope... much much nicer than the same comparable Vortex rifle scope at half the price of the Votex!

Great review. Have you checked out Meopta out of the Czech republic? The quality and value is impossible to beat, Czech crystal is even used in sensitive US military missile guidance optic systems, machined aluminum with tight specs as opposed to plastics & glue. The best part is the price point, Meopta doesn't spend money on marketing, so you can get a superior product for less than some of the overhyped, heavily promoted brands that look good on the outside, but don't perform nearly as well.

Did I miss something? I thought he mentioned that they were assembled in the Philippines or Japan. I’m asking because I really want to support American companies that manufacture and assemble their own products as much as possible. I’ve looked at Leupold’s line-up for 8x32’s but they want twice what I can pay right now.

Absolutely, the tradesmen and tradeswoman of America need your support more than ever. Buy American to build back a true middle class.
