Fast-forward in 2010 I needed surgery, they pain in my back was getting worse every year but tried to hold on until my child support commitment was fulfilled, came up short by 5 months. The surgery included the removal of the bottom 6 discs followed by a fusion going from T-9 all the way down to S-1. Jump to today in 2024 I still have bad pain for a few reasons. I remember slamming both of my knees on concrete at work (I'm 250lbs btw) a couple years ago and oh my God the pain was excruciating, I had to walk with a serious case of bowleggedness because of the pain as I made my way to the nurse's office. I had chronic knee pain for easily almost a full year before finally I could sit on my knees (pause lol) or even bend them without feeling pain. In retrospect, I think I probably had hair fractures on both of them just with how bad my knees constantly felt 24/7, but i never got them checked out. I'm just glad they made a full recovery.

Slamming your knee into an edge of any kind hurts like fooking hell. I didn't run into a ring like Maven did for his super hero scene but slipping and then ramming your knee into your house door frame trying to catch yourself from falling certainly didn't feel good as well. Honestly when I think back I probably would've preferred the fall. Another injury, this time concussion. I was a kid, playing with others. We climbed the containers you put used glass into. We balanced on top of it and then when I slipped down the edge my friend wanted to catch me but he grabbed me below the buttocks and the momentum let me fall backwards while he struggled to keep me upright. So my head slammed into the pavement. I had so much fun and adrenaline that I just felt a lil headache. My mother then found out that I was bleeding and nearly passed out coz she couldn't see any blood at all. The days after I felt like absolute shit. Tldr: injuries can happen at any time in your daily life, no matter your profession, age or fitness.

Adrenaline masking pain is real. I played three years in a roller hockey league that allowed fighting. I had 80 fights in 42 games. I did not get hurt while in any fight, but I felt plenty the day after fights. Someone who was new to the league in my third year asked me who punched the hardest and I had no clue. It helped that I have a hard head I'm sure, but clearly from the bruises, black eyes, etc. I took hard punches that adrenaline brushed off

I don't care much for modern wrestling. I'll just watch occasionally for a nostalgia pop at this point. With that said, I need to hear Maven's legendary theme play after the buzzer at the Royal Rumble just one more time. Hit the music, get a few eliminations, dropkick Braun Strowman out of the ring (or whoever the big guy is these days). I would pop huge. C'mon Maven. It's been too long.

Love your channel Maven, it really is the best of any wrestling channel I've seen so far! Stevie Richards would be #2
