Lord Ram's skin colour isn't just the average dark. It is possibly of dark bluish hue. Yes shankha neck brings in the beauty but not sure what short neck is about. Not sure if his height is quoted directly instead of length from elbow to finger tip. He had long arm that came to the knees anyway. Possibly, he was much taller than 6ft. Balaram had to reduce the height of his wife of Satya Yuga.
