I don’t think DFS would be a good trade at this point, but you’re crazy if you think he would be the 9-10th man. He was playing 40+ MPG in the playoffs for the Mavs. Kidd would have him starting over PJ for sure bc he is a better defender and better 3-point shooter

Thank you for saying this man. I love DoDo for what he had to accomplish to become serviceable as a 3&D player in Dallas but he is an insanely limited player. On offense he is the definition of a stationary ball stopper that attacks the rim with no force and his defense is only good as a connective piece. He is Dallas’s biggest rose tinted glasses player of the 2020’s.

As much as I now hate Kleber, I can't giveaway a 1st round pick. We just replaced our wings. Just leave Kleber on the bench, where he belongs. I hated Kleber's contract when they gave it to him.

Kleber is a backup four. $11,000,000 a year is about the going rate. The mid-level is $12,900,000. Same for Doe. He’s strictly a backup to PJ, playing I. Front of OMax, who might be as good or better in a year.

Who does Doe play in front of? PJ? Marshall? At this point he’s a backup four with a limited offensive game. We have better versions of him already. Maxi gives us flexibility at the four AND FIVE.

That trade is too expensive, and we already have PJ, Maxi, Naji, and Quentin to play the forward position. Also, we need to keep Maxi as a backup for Lively and Gafford if one gets hurt. What the Mavericks really need is a third reliable ballhandler to back up Luka and Kyrie so they can rest for more minutes in most games.
