How the hell do I get my Marquee to light up with these things I thought I'd just plug and play do I now I need more parts??
@deathstrokeTT Жыл бұрын
Great info on the board. Is there anyway to power the marquee lights?
@MavericksArcade Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I understand the question. Do you mean after you've replaced all the other parts how to power up the built-in Marquee? If so, then the answer would be to find the power requirements of the marquee and probably splice a power adapter with the correct wattage. In my case, I replace the Marquee in the Part 2 video :-)

My intent is to use it with a PC. I don't currently have any experience with the Pandora systems.

hello, can you please tell me wich hdmi vga board I need for a mortal kombat 30th aniversary 1up cabinet? Ive read on amazon that there are several type of these boards, Thanks!
@MavericksArcadeАй бұрын
I'm honestly not sure. I didn't know that they were making that cabinet. One sec... (drinking at a bar right now)... tried to look it up, they don't give me the specs on the page, so I can't be sure 100%. But what I would say, is in reviewing the video, does the connector look the same? If so, you're probably save in using the same controller as I do in my video. OMG, I can't believe the 30th anniversary is within my lifetime... damn I'm old LOL :-)

@@MavericksArcade hello, i just made a raspberry pi mod so riped out the original lcd and board. But thanks anyway! Have a nice drink and stay young!

Nice howto I bought a gen3 Defender Partycade 40th anniversary to get my game room up and running, along with a full size replica I started back around 2008 for Mame These add on hdmi input boards need to allow retaining the original 1up emulation cpu board, and treat the 1up board as an input along with the vga, hdmi, dvi inputs Yes, if you get a free or cheap 1up or damaged but working screen, these add on video input boards might make sense But if all you want is an rpi or super console x pro or similar in there, just get a prefab cab off Etsy and a free spare monitor from just about anyone or thrift store. Especially doesn’t make sense if you’re gonna hack up the 1up even more with controller upgrades, etc
@MavericksArcade2 жыл бұрын
It made sense to me only because Covid prices on wood and I didn't not want to build another cabinet at the moment. They were also on sale for $100 :-) The video series is simply for anyone who wants to customize the crap out of it :-)
@sparkyAR3 жыл бұрын
Good video! Maybe you already answered this, but why not buy a cheap used 19" monitor and a vga-hdmi adapter? You end up with a bigger screen and its way less work. A bigger screen is a must for 4-players games
@MavericksArcade3 жыл бұрын
:-) It's a good point, and something to look towards doing down the road. My main arcade has a 40-inch screen, so I'm not worried about the screen size of this machine :-) this build is simply to get familiar with the 1UP machines and to show how to convert existing equipment to the Raspberry. Unfortunately, I just realized, I'm going to need to do two videos on the control panel. One will be keeping the existing buttons and another video on replacing them with the RGB ones :-/ More work, but I think worth having two separate videos :-)

I bought the same PCB from Amazon and I did everything but what about the 12 pin ribbon cable? That's the only one that isn't connected. I can't seem to get it to work. It turned on for a bit with a black screen but turned right off. Any ideas what I can do to fix this?
@MavericksArcade Жыл бұрын
A previous viewer asked about "BOE" monitors, apparently newer Arcade 1UPs use a BOE IPS panel? So perhaps yours would need a BOE to HDMI adapter? Just guessing here...
@danielpintar40173 жыл бұрын
Does the sound/speakers work when using HDMI? Thanks for the Video.
@MavericksArcade2 жыл бұрын
Yes, in fact, if you look on the card that I use from the listing on Amazon: smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B084NWYRX4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Check out the third pic, it has an audio input and a headphone jack... I am going to test this directly when I get to that part of my project, so stay tuned. Basically... it "should" take the audio from the HDMI signal and output it to the earphone jack... but I'll confirm when I get to the OS portion, which is coming soon. Chuck

Do you think it’s possible to mod HDMI onto a My Arcade Mini?
@MavericksArcade2 жыл бұрын
Looking at the teardown video below probably not. I mean anyone really determined could probably make it work, but the effort would probably be too much for the outcome. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGaZpGBtis2MhNE

does it work with the "BOE" monitor they put in the newer arcade1up cabinets??
@MavericksArcade Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure, this is the only Arcade 1UP I've worked with thus far. However, I did a quick search for BOE to HDMI and I found a lot of similar adapters that specify BOE, so perhaps that's how you'd do it?

@@MavericksArcade id probably just install a 20" dell instead. you get bigger screen and I bought some of those monitors for $20 each

What happens if I accidentally plugged the signal cable with the red facing the wrong way the first time? Do I need a new one bcus my sceen is just black or blue now
@MavericksArcade9 ай бұрын
That I do not know, and I don't want to try myself :-( I imagine if there was power on one of those channels that mixing the cable could have caused damage, but I'm not 100% sure.

Is there any to convert the input signal from the original board to a HDMI connection. I have The Simpsons version in my bar and I want to interrupt the signal with a splitter so I can push a button to change the screen from the game to whatever video signal is coming from the cable box. Do you think this is possible?
@MavericksArcadeАй бұрын
That is a really interesting question! So you're looking to preserve the original functionality but to ADD functionality instead of simply replacing the original.... DAMN! love it! I think I actually found an answer. Do you mind if I use this post and the answer in my next video? Check out this video, it looks like a good answer :-) kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5y4g2ZjeMeJg5o Chuck

No bad for 4 drinks in :-)
@MavericksArcadeАй бұрын
Sorry, again, been drinking, but I think this is along the lines to answer your question. I think you want to work on converting the signal. So, you would want multiple components here... First, you want to convert your LVD signal from the board to HDMI. That way, the output of the original game ends up in HDMI. THEN, add an HDMI selector switch to allow you to switch between original and the added PC's with emulation. Does that make sense?
@bittymongooseАй бұрын
@MavericksArcade Yes! I want to keep the original game, and it's board and simply interrupt the signal from the board to the moitor with a HDMI selector. So the video you sent was almost what I need to do, but instead of 2 outputs, I need 2 inputs. The reason. I want to do this is because the cab is in my bar and we have 3 TVs already, but I think it would be super cool to flip a switch and have the football game on the cab. And no i wouldn't mind at all if you used this for a video! This idea came from being a few deep lol

No I appreciate it, I'm trying to make these better and more marketable, but I don't want to skimp on the information either... My viewers have liked the details, many other videos skip through the actually setup too fast :-/ working on that balance :-)
