Mavic 3 Pro vs Air 2s / Video Quality test / ISO Test

hey ! what a great test and comparison. finally someone is making test properly with analysis and findings. Anyway what I have noticed Air2s footage no matter if dlog or dcinelike has a tendency to "fade" shadows.. there are not a lot of the details in the shadows on the Air2s. comparing to Mavic 2 pro and of course Mavic 3 pro. this is the tendency I have noticed in many videos from other youtubers as well. This particular ONE thing.. is a bit holding me from changing my good old king of the skies - Mavic 2 pro.

The thing that took me to the Mavic 3 Pro was 3 lenses - very creative options ro shoot, and D-log M actually is much more like DSLR colorwise, good benefits. Only one thats cannot be undone is detail level and sharpening, this is much worse then Air 2s.

Did you use the same d-log profile? I think D-Log on the Mavic 3 Pro is much nicer than D-Log M, however since the 3x lens can only do D-log M I'm wondering how much performance I will loose from the 1x camera if I choose to use D-Log M for both the 1x and 3x lens so that I don't drive the colorist mad...

Answered my own question by watching more of your videos. Thanks for posting these. Looks like D-Log M will be fine.

D-log grades better with Sony cameras, if you use 1x and Sony A7s3 in combo, d log i better, for matching! But D log M is cleaner, and less over sharpened in camera, I don't know why, but because of dynamic range and flatness there is strange artefact around contrasts areas. D log m is more like allrounder for using more all lenses of a drone and overall not to care to change if you shoot in lowlight!

What aperture did you use on Mavic 3 in the first test? You should have used F5.6 on Mavic 3 to do a fair test. The depth of field would have been the same. Also it is a well known fact that the biggest aperture isn't very good unless it's a fixed aperture lens. Mavic 3 is at its best at F5.6

At this test it was at f2.8, but overall i tested mavic 3 pro with f5.6 and its better A bit, but there are fundamental differences in how image is been processed and captured, details at less but all the other dynamic range, colour science, and shadow roll of and highlight roll of are better.

@@NatureTravelFilms Quick question, for Mavic 3 pro, do you recommend use always fix F5.6? I want the sharpness image and I have doubts about how use the f aperture? I normally record from high altitude and medium(rocks..etc) thanks in advance!

Overall yes! Verdatility beats just pure image quality! Creative options are much more inspiring to fly and film !

I understand friend DJI has evolved a lot Mavic 3 for I want to get one after the update, it was really top notch.

@@NatureTravelFilms soo why is so rubbish the sensor from mavic 3 pro ? as a colorist i can see the extra sharpness in mavic 3 pro ,the air 2s has the image more organic and pleasant to whatch.

@@Vatziubeuca totally agree! Have the same question! Fun fact, photo side - there mavic 3 pro looks very very good! They messed up with video performance! Only + is that color is better on mavic 3 pro , and overal noise reduction in camera , when D logm is used at 1600 Iso in 4k mode, looks alot better and more capable then air 2s! But daylight, sunny day! Air 2 s killin it! Looking more like inspire! In terms of detail and feel of the image!

@@Vatziubeucathere is 1/1.3 invh sensors, both. Like A down grade, from 1 inch air 2s sensor! I Think the main difference is - that like in Mavic 2 pro, there was some very strange devisions for picture quality in video, from Hasselblad, and here the same with mavic 3 pro! But when Dji makes their own drone camera, they do it better! So here could be a beast mavic air 3, because all cameras are from DJI. But sensor is a bit smaller! But 1.7 f will help, and dual native Iso they clame it! But i think there will be air 3s and maybe it will be woth bigger sensor main camera!
