I love Bette Davis, she is so strong and intelligent, even though she was quite frail at this point,....she is so beautiful.❤️❤️

It's amazing how frail, yet sharp she is here. One of the very greatest ever 💖

Thank you so very much for sharing this! Bette Davis is and will always be the most talented actress of all time! Her talent is missed in today's world, but thank God she left us with her films to watch over and over!

GREAT interviewer and really good, different and intelligent interview. Better than most Bette Davis was exposed to. Very interesting indeed 💚

So agree. Not the standard " movie star" questions given hundreds of times before.

This is one of the best interviews of Bette in her later years - many people seem annoyed by it but this was so refreshing - hearing very different questions and a more conversational style. We hear a very different Bette here but the stalwart fans moaning would rather just hear rehashes of Carson style interviews with her which over the decades had precisely the same questions every time. This was delightful to watch. And for those moaning about star signs - Bette was into this!!!

🌈I am grateful to find new material with the brilliant Betty Davis no matter who she is with… Of course, some of the questions are not pertinent to anything except plain curiosity. I would rather hear her tell stories of her past, with other famous people, but her viewpoint on many subjects is always well explained and thought out. A brilliant, brave woman for her time and somebody we can all cherish.😘

Is, she's still alive at 91.

No wonder Bette replied at the end that she ‘loved’ spending her time with her. It was like two old friends, looking things up in a book, then discussing them together.

And now Mavis Nicholson is 91 years old, 12 years older than Bette was then.

Bette Davis triumphed over so many obstacles in her later life (the stroke, mastectomy, broken hip, and --most hurtful-- the book written by the daughter she loved above all else) that you can't help but be overcome with admiration at her strength and tenacity. "This 'n That" is written in Davis's unique voice: sometimes bitter, often funny, and always inspirational.

"Baby Jane" should have been her 3rd Oscar. What she did in that role is still remembered today!

Joan Crawford would've never gone out in public if she looked like that, and I respect her for that. It's good to have high standards. Fortunately for Davis, she never was held to as impossibly high a bar as Crawford when it came to beauty or glamour, for all the obvious reasons. I guess what they say is true, being gorgeous can ultimately be too huge a burden to bear for some people. It must've been quite refreshing and liberating for Davis to never have to worry about such things as beauty, glamour or class. Good for her!

What a horrible interview that was. I felt sorry for Bette having to sit and listen to that woman continue on questioning her from some astrology book.
@Hihoweryew9 ай бұрын
The intent was to ask different questions than the other several dozen interviews she had given after writing, publishing and promoting her new book
@philomalley15108 ай бұрын
I agree. Bette began to look frustrated with questions from some random astrology book

Totally agree. You have THE Bette Davis in front of you and you’re reading what seemed like endless quotes from some astrology book about Aries women?! This was maddening and cringey. Oof.

If I had been Davis, I'd have been bored to the point of saying so. She was a class act for not going there.

So Mavis Nicholson has the icon BETTE DAVIS in FRONT of her!! And she asks STUPID Astrology questions? How bizarre and highly disappointing when we could have heard all about Davis' career at Warner Bros. I truly wasted opportunity and I forgot how DULL Mavis Nicholson was! Nevertheless thanks for sharing, some of it was interesting..

I really like Mavis. But the astrology questions a bit odd. I think she just wanted to ask questions Bette hadn’t had before.
@marcmitchel259 ай бұрын
Enjoyed it quite a bit as Miss Davis (so her generation was called) seemed to, till the interviewer couldn't be bothered to pronounce her name correctly. Sadly it's almost always Brits who do that. Generally a pretty intelligent conversation.

What an ignorant generalisation

Bette was also known for destroying any actress who was better than her, in evil ways !

Pity about the interviewer. I just can't stand her sort of superior tone. It happens all the time she interviews people.

One of the worst interviews I've ever seen
@philomalley15108 ай бұрын
Absolutely. She relied on some dumb astrology book to question Bette. Ridiculous!

@@philomalley1510 yeah so annoying. Like she didn't even have questions besides star signs. I would leave that room
@philomalley15108 ай бұрын
@@сиднипрескотт-щ3л Yes exactly. Poor Bette seemed as if she was holding back her anger at the astrology based questions. Worst interview ever. Bette was very alert after her stroke and sadly Bette passed away only a few months later...

My favourite actor is Bette. I want to see every single film she’s made. Especially Beyond the Forest . I think my favourite Bette Davis films are Jezebel , All About Eve , Dark Victory & Whales of August .
