Max Awake At 11 PM ???!!!

This is what happens when a little boy birdy is grumpy and refuses to eat his dinner before bed time. He gets hungry in the middle of the night and screams. So I get up and cool him food. But he refuses to eat again. But once I put him back in his cage he did eat a few spoonfuls of oatmeal. Screamed some more and then slept the rest of the night.

Dan cares for Max just the way we should all for our animal/bird family members, ourselves (exercise, eat healthy, time for rest ect..), our own family members, all of humanity, and other species. He is a wonderful role model, with care and love he gets up at 11 pm, concerned that Max had not eaten dinner and maybe hungry, very positive.

Very true, BUT I do feel for Dan. He wasn't looking to own an exotic bird, he rescued Max and I know its gotta be hard sometimes. He hasn't had a vacation in over 5 years, he has parts of his house destroyed, etc. This is the perfect example of why people should NOT perpetuate the exotic pet trade by buying birds from pet stores (I don't mean Dan, he rescued Max). Most people are not this amazing with their birds as Dan is. Most people either leave their birds in the cage all the time or for hours a day which is so sad. Dan is an amazing ambassador for this beautiful exotic bird, whether he realizes it or not.

I thought that it was a possibility too. We know that animals dream so it stand to reason that they can have a bad dream. I've had two different birds that would panic in the middle of the night on rare occasions and I would have to turn on the light and comfort them. I've also seen a ferret make what sounded like distress noises in her sleep.

We've surmised that Max's grumbly voice, as he's using here quite a lot is really an Cockatoo version of Dan's voice. Parrots are great mimics and often "speak" in the voice of their human companions.

I have watched Mr. Max and his human for years. Their relationship is almost magical and I find their love for each other to be inspirational. Thank you for saving Mr Max, and Mr Max has added so much joy to his human’s life. Together you have provided honest and educational videos, so necessary when one is considering bringing a feathered child into one’s home. It is a life-long commitment requiring ample time to spend with the bird, financial resources to buy healthy food and treats, toys not and of course visits to an avian specialist. Most parrots will outlives their owners; this man and his pet have highlighted the concerns and joys to be aware of when considering the adoption of a feathered dependent. Tbh, I relate to Max here. Getting grumpy and skipping dinner ends up affecting me at night, but even if I choose that moment to eat, it just falls part as a motive, but finding comfort sometimes helps with ease back in... This was almost too human as an event.
