Makes me appreciate the Asics Novablast 5 and superblast 2 even more. The high stacks coming in such light packages. I could never run in such a heavy shoe after having the Novablast 5 as my daily and superblast as my long run shoe.

Are you going to review the Saucony Ride 18?

It was next on my list actually! But I’m waiting until Feb 1st to see if the EVO SL drops in my size first…

Both Brooks Ghost 17 and Mizuno Wave Rider 29 will have the drop from 12mm ( previously) to 10mm ! It will be a complete remaining, especially to the Rider that the design will be b totally different from the version 28th. I'm a huge Wave Rider fan and the 12mm drop never bored me, on the contrary, it helped my sore muscles to recover faster with a different stimulus...

Agree with all you said. The perfect Glycerin would be a tad ligjter and have an 8mm drop

To be honest, I'm very excited about these shoes and I'm looking forward to run in them (hopefully by the end of the week). I tested the Max at a Brooks event at my local runningstore and they worked great for my running style and 80 kilos. Nice rolling, good bounce and pleasant spring. But (a big but!) it was just way too much. way too much shoe and too big for my taste. That's why I have great hope for the 22 glycerin, which seems a little slimmer than the Max. Perfect for eating kilometers every day.

Tried the Glycerin 21 and the Glycerin Max. The Max is a completely different shoe and has its own set of problems. The 21 felt like an okay shoe, but to be honest, I never used it since then. Not the most exciting model. Did you feel like you noticed the different densitys in the foam at all? Softer heel and supposedly more responsive forefoot?

I didn’t buddy no, it felt cushioned from front to back if I’m honest, even when picking up the pace

I have tested it with several other folks in my store. Three said they felt the disconnect, the majority (myself included) thought it felt soft but responsive. I can’t say I notice the weight at all, even when using it for a threshold run. That said, it would be my choice for a track workout.

Admittedly I’m easily confused but still trying to get clear in my head why there’s a parallel lineup of the Ghost & Glycerin being the Ghost max & Glycerin max? I understood Ghost was daily trainer and if you wanted more cushioned daily trainer you got the Glycerin. Now confused whether you’d get Glycerin or Glycerin max and same if you like the Ghost range. How different would Ghost max be to standard Glycerin for example as both more cushioned shoes? No doubt they must sell loads of all 4 models but confusing for consumer like me! I like it when 2 daily trainers and one just more premium e.g NB 880 v 1080 etc.

Kofuzi does a good job of explaining line ups at the end of his videos. If you don't know who he is check him out.

I love the Glycerin. It fits so perfectly and it feels so comfortable. I just wish it didn't weigh so much ... I have got v20, I have run 557 km in them and they still look like they are almost new. If it wasn't fot the mud, the upper looks brand-new. I can easily run another 200 or 300 kilometres in then, but I'm also going to buy v22, simply because that I'm so fond of v20.

Bought the GlycerinMax and was not impressed, feels like a negative drop and there's zero flex in that shoe as the stroble board is way too stiff, stiffer than a carbon racer, upper is terrible, any run over 6K is just painful on my feet. I compare it to buying a bike with a saddle that slopes foreword, the brakes are permanently stuck on and has two 6 inch nails for pedals. If it works for other people that's great and I'm happy for them, for me it's running kryptonite. on the plus side; buying this shoe has educated me on a complete arsenal of things to look out for in future shoes, as things to avoid at all costs.

I found the new ghost to run half size small. My toes were hitting the toe bumper. Does this glycerin run the same length or is it a little longer , can't tell by the video comparison.

I must be honest I didn’t have an issue with sizing in the ghost 16 or the glycerin 22, both were the same size for me! But the glycerin had the usual thumb width at the end which I like

Normally just the GTX Ghosts are too tight and you want to go up 1/2 size. My Ghost Max 1 are 1/2 size down and the same goes for my Hyperion 1 GTS. I have quite narrow and very low volume feet and my larger right foot is EU 45,5 or 28,4cm.

Not really buzzing for this one then. The Max version seems to have been better received although always think with Brooks their USP is continuity of shoe models that don't change too much between iterations.

Heavier than Glycerin 21?
@fodrunnerextra10 күн бұрын
I didn’t have the 21 to compare it to sadly but I believe from checking the brooks website, the sample weights given show that it is heavier
