I have been a Glycerin wearer in the past. Looking forward to trying this version. As a general note for me with regard to running shoes, I'm never very concerned with breathability or weight. No matter what, here in Miami FL it's almost always hot. The only shoe that I ever ran in that felt heavy to me was the Adidas ultra boost. I'm a grown man, so a few ounces in a shoe is negligible. Already running in Brooks Hyperion Max 2, and that's a very good shoe.

I will probably eventually buy the 22’s because the Glycerin is part of my rotation. However, I can wait until they go on sale because I still have about 300 miles left on my Glycerin 20’s. Also, I have a pair of Nike Vomero 17’s that I work into my rotation as a similar shoe.

Glycerin 20 was my wife's go-to shoe for exercise, dancing, general wear etc. (she's not a runner). Didn't like the 21 because it got a good deal softer. It'll be interesting to see how she feels about it since it seems to have gotten a bit firmer again but also a bit heavier.

Just had the glycerin max on my foot and an hour ago. As nice looking as the shoe is, the heel slip is real, and I never have an issue with that in any shoe besides maybe a nike. I will definitely be holding out for the 22 when it releases here in Canada as the dna tuned foam seems like a real winner. I also would prefer a lower stack without the aggressive roll as I can use it in the gym as well. I couldn't imagine trying to do a any weighted squat with the maxes on , it would be a rolling nightmare 😅😅😅

I’m still in Glycerin 18 and on about 1,900km and still fine! When first wore them felt too soft for me but obviously really got into them now as daily trainer and indestructible! Only problem is had to adjust lacing as very shallow shoe profile and I’ve got high arch so caused numbness on top of foot. Once missed out some eyelets very comfortable.
@rmjames83Ай бұрын
Really? I think they are probably well & truly past their use by😂but I agree, nitrogen infused foam is legit!!!
@CSRunner7Ай бұрын
@ I don’t know, all that change your shoes after a few hundred miles feels like a big marketing con! I think when people say the shoes bottomed out it can just be in the mind as they really just want a new pair! (I’ve done it myself). Probably depends on runner, I’m about 68kg and focus a lot on running form and rotate 3 daily trainers and they’re all over 1,000km and I’ve not suffered with any big injuries. It is frustrating as I do want to try some newer versions but prices shot up since I last bought a pair!!
@FordyRunsАй бұрын
Shows you how durable they are
@rmjames83Ай бұрын
@@CSRunner7 I get what you mean. Great you haven’t had any injuries! Was told by my physio that it can be a big factor in injury-running in shoes that become essentially not supportive anymore/foam too compressed when they have huge miles in them. I’ve found that I’ve noticed this (particularly the compressed foam) in other brands but have recently switched to Brooks & Puma since they use nitrogen infused foam, & in theory, should last longer. Your comment certainly is a vote of confidence in Brooks! I also rotate shoes, so get a bit more out of them. We all love new shoes, but less of them in landfill, without picking up injuries in the process has to be a huge win!! (I still think you deserve a new pair of shoes soon with the amount of mileage you have done! Gotta treat yourself occasionally!😂😉)

@@CSRunner7 oh, look at the previous version(s) of something ur interested in-I save big doing it that way. Usually huge discounts on the superseded model. The padding on glycerine 21 around the ankle was firm, tight, and uncomfortable, as it was always cutting in. I hope glycerine 22 is looser, softer, and not as imposing in that area.

Fordy is right. The Glycerin 22 is $210 CDN while the Glycerin Max is $250 CDN. It would make much more sense to purchase the Glycerin Max for $40 more since they're both stacked heavier shoes with the same DNA tuning.

Although it looks better than the 21, it's disappointing they didn't style it more like the Glycerin Max. All their newer models coming out this year look to be getting a new sleek/clean styling, but this one reminds me more of their older (boring) styling from the past. It's also not helping that they chose this awful colorway to send out to everyone for the media reviews.
